They might have caused havoc but I doubt that 8 small airplanes would have caused enough damage to extend the war by one day just by attacking any land location other than Tinian, or the Indianapolis, or any other target involved with The Gadget.
Would have made the papers, scared some people but those were not significant aircraft.
Drop a 200 pounder ot two on the White House and that would have caused problems.
But the Atlantic was the playground of the Kriegsmarine's boats.

In that case it was an attempt to alter the value of the coin by making it work as a dime.Weeellll, I guess that explains why folks don't get arrested for them "souvenir" penny-squashing machines.
But when my grandparents' hired man would shave down a penny to use in a coke machine, that was not only a state crime (stealing from the coke company), but the federal "mutilating money" thing, huh?

. Yup same thing with my V10 Ford! Climbed around under the hood scoping it out and drove directly to the dealer.We have a 1999 Dodge 3500 with V10 engine. I think it coat $80 some years ago to get the plugs changed. Talking to the service manager, he said it was common for people to bring in trucks with V10 that the owners changed out 8 plugs and wanted to get back two changed. They were always shocked to find the charge was still $80 just to change the back two.
