I would recommend staying in Abilene, KS at... https://www.ihg.com/holidayinnexpress/hotels/us/en/abilene/ailks/hoteldetail Alot of folks use to stay at Super 8, cheaper... But not as nice as the Holiday Inn. Some folks stay in Junction City, KS too... But I would go with Abilene... As that is where the Banquet will be held as well.

Hey Landon, have not gotten much feedback on the 87' Sub Category.... If you want to put up a buckle we can sure offer it and see how it goes? It is your choice pard.

Officially signed up, only a few, most won't get their entries in till March usually. But if everyone shows up that has said they would, we are looking at 30+ ! I am really excited about that, for two years we have been soooo close to my goal of 30 Classics... And I think we are going to hit it for 2024. I would love to blow that goal out of the water and hit 40!

This list currently includes: -Classic Cowboy (open) -Classic Cowboy Senior -Classic Cowboy Elder Statesman -Classic Cowboy Cattle Baron -Classic Cowboy Ol' Skool (using non traditional 1873 pistols or replicas for entire match... Open tops, Schofields, ect) -Classic Cowboy 1860 Henry (Using an 1860 Henry entire match) -Classic Cowboy Frontier Cartridge (Black Powder) -Classic Cowboy Frontier Cartridge Gunfighter -Classic Cowgirl (Open) -Conchos (for any top five classics overall that did not win a buckle) Please contact me with what sub Category you will be signing up for so I can keep a list. The CC Showdown is a "match inside a match" and the sub categories that are recognized by it may differ from what the host club recognizes. Please choose one sub Category. The Classic Cowboy Swagger is a custom scarf slide. It is given to a classic that "just looks the part". Pony Soldier and I vote on it and it rotates back and forth between his classic match and mine. It will be awarded next year at the Showdown. Travel'n Travis Largo Casey High Plains Hud Are the past three years recipients. Just a little something for those that really look the part! You would be a damn good candidate LAL!
