Yep, they work great.  If you have a 44-40 the gets crease on the end, this opens it back up enough to be resized.

  6. I had one of my 1860 Henry's worked over by Boomstick, he did an excellent  job with it.

It was originally a 44-40 with standard barrel length 24.5"

Now it sports a 20" barrel and has been rechambered in 44Russian.  (Barrel diameter  is the same for both cartridges in modern rifles) I find it to be perfect for what I do... Balance is nice with light recoil.

With a Henry, since it is loaded down the tube, a cartridge stop is all that needs to be added for the shorter round ( a simple set screw)... Along with a slight groove cut in bolt face for it to clear.

I absolutely love shooting the 44 Russian

  7. A quick note:

Thank you to all the classic that made this year's Classic Cowboy/Cowgirl Showdown!

We had a fantastic time, weather was a little rough with some rain and mud to deal with... But we made it through it!

With the weather and posse duties I did not get as many photos as I would have liked... So if you have any feel free to share.

I also missed out on a group photo, I had plans to do it at the banquet, but it was a little tight in there and with time restraints it sadly didn't happen.  I would like to apologize for that as I know many of you enjoy that alot.

(Please remember the Showdown is a match in match, what we recognize may not be the same as the host club)
