My favorite stupid person story is based upon someone who publicly stated in anger that they were going to sue us for, "defecation of character." Perhaps before they ventured into the world of 4 syllable words they needed to learn the difference between defecation and defamation.....

While at a LGS here in Northern AZ something caught my eye, now that in of itself is nothing new but I do have a fondness for single actions. This time it was a Ruger Single Six convertible, 22 LR/22 Mag, 6 .5 length barrel, complete with original black box, instruction manual and that cute little red bag with the gold draw string. This gun dated back to 1962. It took me back to the days of hunting with Dad, with close friends and the many nights we spent around the camp fire. I have looked for quite sometime, I have Dad's original 22 LR version of this in a shorter barrel from 1962 but wanted another but with the interchangeable cylinder. The Single Six was my introduction into everything single action, I guess it was kind of a gateway drug. Together over the years dad and I collected many more Single actions and there was always a bit of excitement in that phone call describing what homeless pistol, rifle or shotgun had followed one of us home. So here is to a era of $69.50 Single Six 22's and all the memories and values that were shared and taught by dads of that era. Lets continue the traditions...and yes it it no longer homeless.

I know of an actual case where the DEA put a well placed .50 cal. round into one of the turbo prop engines and the pilot grew immediately wise and shut it down.

I have one, it is my primary SASS rifle in .45. Out of the box it was smooth, internally it was clean and I had nothing done to it. I have no complaints about it, I'd even buy another if needed. And I have shot it quite a bit in the years that I have owned it, no failures or breakage.

I did the reverse, I ordered the rifle for hunting and not CAS. Having used the Shiloh Sharps for big game, I an tell you that the 45-70 is more than adequate for hunting purposes. Mule deer and cow elk were relocated from the field to the freezer. Then one day I started practicing at greater distances and remember thinking, hey this is fun! So now my Shiloh Sharps 1874 Business rifle in 45-70 fills both needs and it may not be a Quigley but it is all I need with a 30 inch barrel that is round and octagon.

Wrongful convictions, yes.

I have used them and they all worked well. I guess the green means they are environmentally friendly and leave to carbon footprint. Recently someone asked me why was there a electrical cord poking through the grill of my Silverado HD, I told them it was a green electric truck and I was thanked for being environmentally conscious. Same concept.....

The ones that I have seen and handled are quality rifles. I will get one eventually in .357 just because ... my dream would be in .41 mag., but probably not a reality.

Favorite hunting rifle......Shiloh Sharps 1874 Business Rifle

Mine is in the category of a great rifle to shoot and so glad I got it when I did....

Unique and 231 is one of those go-to hand gun powders. I recently came upon a 4lb bottle at a smaller mom and pop gun store and I was morally obligated to give it a home. When I first started reloading in the early 70's it was my first powder at the advice of a wise old timer....How'd I get this old?

I have never cared for it, this year I'll probably be outside on my horse.....

I'm old school. I like pretty wood and polished blue in my lever guns.....

My daughter can change a tire on her horse trailer in a snow storm, bone out an elk, reload ammo or be a lady when needed. My nephew wears make up……nuf said.

Collectors gun and not recommended for shooting Iver Johnsons "Owl Head”, .38 S&W caliber (Black Powder only) There are no markings on the frame and no serial number to research its age, best guess is 1910 and that is only a guess. This gun is for black powder only. The flutes in the cylinder for the stop bolt are longer than the ones for smokeless and the owl is facing forward. This was part of an estate that I acquired and have no need for it. Perhaps some one out there needs a piece of history. $100 and I get the shipping ..... I am at the mercy of LGS's and fellow shooters on what this is. It is a novelty item, and the information provided is a best guess. What is consistent is the brand, claliber and the "don't shoot this". Even the internet has been less than helpful at times. My expertise is not in anything made by Iver Johnson. Thanks for looking......

In AZ she would be charged, murder is still murder. Trial, highly unlikely, a plea very likely. Competency and mental health would be the sticking points. As a old curmudgeon once told me; at 85 or 90 a life sentence is much shorter.....

I have used 1000's in small pistol, large pistol, large rifle and small rifle standard. Never a problem one.......I came across a bunch for sale at a LGS that was closing and bought them all, pre Dumpster Fire (2020). A lucky move on my part.

I am finding that I am growing weaker and needing one of the new Henry 1860's simply because of the cool factor......trying to decide between steel or brass...opinions?

My favorite is my old Marlin 336 Texan from 1969. Lots of mule deer and cow elk have fallen to this rifle.....

Whenever I fall to temptation and use a .45 for long range it allows me to go make a sandwich and enjoy it while the bullet is in flight......
