  1. The trench guns are getting really hard to find. The WWII re-enactors and collectors have snapped them up, plus guys in our sport...Keep a sharp eye on Gunbroker, GunsAmerica and Armslist. I found one toward the end of last year for $300.00...which is NOT the norm- they are usually $500 minimum.

  2. NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why in the Hecky DURN would they not cast a real honest to goodness Native American as TONTO!!??

"Johnny Depp looks, the costume with the bird, makes him look more like a Voodo witch doctor, rather then a proud American indian warrior."

    Amen. Absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable.

Oh, off topic...I see HollyWeird has raped my childhood memories again by making a mockery out of 21 Jump Street.

  3. The legality hinges upon the concept of what separates semi auto from full auto.

Last time I heard that was.....

A full auto is defined as having for each trigger pull more than one round goes down range.

Semi auto has a single round going down range per trigger pull.

Right. Except 'bump fire' uses the recoil motion to crash the trigger into your static finger to 'pull' the trigger.

The Akins Accelerator used the same technology, albeit it had a spring in the stock, it still was a bump fire stock. -It too, was 'ATF' approved. UNTIL they changed their minds!!! Mr. Akins took his case all the way in the courts against the ATF and had numerous experts proving his stock was a bump fire mechanism. In the end, he lost everything and the stocks were deemed illegal.

...If they were even $150 I'd have one and have fun with it until the ATF bans them, but at $350, no way.

  4. ...and $350 is a HUGE gamble. Every time I see a video of this thing in action, I get all giggly. -I bet there is some jack-booted thug higher up that sees the same video, and instead of getting giggly, is going XXX!! ...it's a matter of time. The lib's won't let this one slide. pun intended.

  5. Got my belt, holsters and knife sheath in today, I couldn't be happier!

Had them made by a guy named Jason Ross.

I got a strong side right and a cross draw. He's making me a strong side left to match too, so I'll have both options.

    They are beautiful!

    Holster-1

  6. If you have a Tandy Leather nearby, or other craft store, get a leather trimmer -the one that looks like a T-square....you can cut a brim perfectly with it.

To shape- a tea kettle or a pot of boiling water with a lid to direct the steam- 'un-bash' it, then re-shape to your desire. Once dried....it's set.

This is ONLY for a full fur felt hat!! Wool felt will either shrink into a dunce cap or fall apart, or both with the steam!

  7. We've got plenty in the departments evidence room.

Ha! Yep- that's the overwhelming MAJORITY of guns we take off the thugs for two reasons- cheap, and all the pawnshops downtown sell them.

The carbines seem to be a little better than the pistols, but not by much from the ones that I have actually held and shot.

IF you're gonna get one, get two so when one is down and off to HP for replacement (as far as i know they don't waste time and money repairing them) you have one to carry.

Yes, they have a lifetime warranty, and yes, some people get one that they never have trouble with, but to those in the latter camp, I question how much they're shot...

If you need to sell blood to save up to buy even a well used Glock, do that instead of buying a HP.

If you have to have a gun, right now, cheap...

  8. I laughed my butt of when the owner Dude got 'blowback' all over his face from the 'new' '66. What dumbass gunsmith wouldn't check headspace before shooting the thing?

...I can't stand looking at the wife with her walleye'd tits and horse teeth, and the daughter- seems like she's being pimped out for the show to me...

  9. $20 is the standard rate in town. I sold a rifle to a guy in Texas a couple years ago. He emailed me back asking if he could back out of the deal- He had gone to his closest gun shop to get an FFl and do the transfer, and they wanted $75 for the transfer!

He had never bought a gun interstate, and assumed this was normal. I enlightened him with the ATF's list of FFL holders in his area...he found one for $15 and was happy as a clam.

That dude was a turd. You should enter his email on some 'questionable' websites and spam him to death!

  10. I have heard that the Glock has a tendency to produce leg injuries for new glock users when drawing from belt holster.

    Anyone else heard that?

We (the PD) switched to Glock model 22 .40's in 1998; having had S&W 6906's...One of our macho-ninja SWAT team members shot himself in the leg re-holstering.

    Yes- a SWAT member!!!

We also had a guy shoot the dashboard of his car, another guy shoot a neighbor's truck...

  11. Thanks for the replies and messages.

I did some research reading on this, and it looks like I need a little more crimp and a little more powder...I load on a Lee 3 die progressive, so I just gotta turn a knob!

I'm using good Starline brass and TB powder, so I've got a good start.

  12. Fired the March '07 vintage Stoeger Uberti 1866 Yellowboy today for the first time. .45 colt...200 grain rnfp lead bullet in starline cases with x.x grains of Trail Boss powder.

This is the first '66 I've shot, so I have no idea what to expect. There was a LOT of blowback with each shot- gasses coming straight up and back that I could feel on my face and forehead. Had some soot on my face afterward...

is this normal on these '66/'73 rifles or just the .45 colt round in them?

  13. I will wager ye are wrong, make it light on yourself. How many pards do you have to have tell you? Ye have fallen into an internet rumor trap. Happens to all of us at times. Be advised I only bet on sure things.

:excl: It was on the internet- so it must be true!!

  14. Please remember me in your prayers! I've been job hunting for a few months now. Yesterday I saw a help wanted ad in our church's newspaper from a small local Christian ministry production studio. I don't have a resume to submit as the last two decades have been spent on the PD.

I decided to be bold and stopped by the place today to introduce myself. The business isn't really set up for visitors- it's a bunch of offices in an industrial park building. I walked in and went to the first occupied office I found and knocked on the door. It just so happened to be that the girl in that office was the one who they are looking for someone to help out. I got to talk to her for a while and it went really well. She was excited to then introduce me to the one other person on that side of the business- her boss and the guy who will do the hiring.

I got to talk to him, tell him about myself and we found out I had served with his cousin on the force.

It didn't feel like a job interview, which was my intentions by just showing up. I felt really good about it.

This job would be a great fit for me- and them as well. They are 5 minutes from my house. It's a small, friendly place with a relaxed atmosphere involved in a business that I have a passion for.

I've looked into several jobs since retiring, interviewed for a few -and every one required quit a compromise on my part in one way or another- travel, schedule, etc... None of them panned out for no real reason; I'm hoping God had this one saved for me!
