  1. The Comanchero was a regular factory rifle when received and is then slicked up by an outside gunsmith then sold by Taylor's as the Comanchero. Hope you got a good price.

The Cut/Weld methodology is outdated...but is used because it's cheaper than replacing parts. The Comanchero is a decent way to get a better-than-box stock 73.

I have one not for sale.

I have one converted to .38-55 which shoots way softer than my Sharps .45-70 which is heavier.  I you can find a .38-55, which is good to 500 yards, it will save your shoulder as you age.  All the matches I have been to no one had a 500 yard range.

Come to the Virginia State Match, Gunfight at the Double-C on Labor Day weekend, We Do.

If you happen upon a crime scene and want to start picking up the brass!

You check to see if they have two in their hat.

  4. Mr. Parker, The gentleman that sent you the holsters is top of the line. Mine are like the second set but I also had a matching cross draw made. Fit and feel is a personal thing to shooters. We can make suggestions and talk about our personal preferences all day long but you have to make that final decision. Not much help, just the truth.

  5. Most of the year I shoot FC gunfighter but in the winter I go back to shooting smokeless as a senior with a crossdraw holster. It takes me three to four matches before I stop touching my crossdraw with my left hand as I draw the pistol with my right hand. Around here, crossdraw's are quite prominent.
