  1. Congratulations on your new best friend.
  2. I have watching talk videos so I took it upon myself to find some articles about the return of Thompson Center: I can’t speed read a video. No offense meant @Cholla TC’s new website: https://tcarms.com/ https://www.guns.com/news/2024/05/02/thompson-center-arms-is-back https://www.ilovemuzzleloading.com/blog/thompsoncenter-returns-from-the-dead https://www.taguagunleather.com/thompson-center-arms-returns-a-rebirth-of-american-firearms-heritage/
  3. I used a Winchester 94 Trails End for years. All I heard from the peanut gallery was “Buy a new better gun”. “That gun sucks. It’s too slow.” Blah, blah, blah… I shot CAS to have fun. I firmly believe in “dance with what brung ya!”. I didn’t have a lot of disposable income back then and I wasn’t dumping my 94, Vaqueros and Stoeger SxS to please some other person because they were way invested in the game buying everything everyone else told them to buy and thought everyone should be like them. Misery loves company I guess. I still have my Win 94 .357. I have repaired it with new parts 3 times now. It’s a gun I will never part with. Me and that ‘94 had a lot of fun together. I am sure it’s the same with your Henry.
  4. I am thinking of the Pledge of Allegiance. The Constitution outlines a Constitutional Republic. https://www.usconstitution.net/republic-vs-democracy/
  5. Wow! I had forgotten about that Mojave Phone. I had heard about it back in the mid 90’s. I never went to it but had heard about it talking to hikers up in the San Bernadino Mountains and in Apple and Lucerne Valleys. Actually, I thought they were pulling my chain. I wasn’t sure if it was real or not. I had completely forgotten about it until your post @Subdeacon Joe. Thanks.
  6. I don’t know if this attached video will work, but it’s a short video I took of a little girl interacting with a robot in Boston Airport that stands in front of a restaurant and tells you about the specials and the menu. https://share.icloud.com/photos/076n0z-ZWujYEkdDv4TCiRTaQ
  7. I know you know this but I have made it my duty, and joyfully so around certain types of people, to ensure that everyone understands that we do not live in a democracy. The United States is a Republic.
  8. How easy is it or is it possible to easily change the sights on that pistol?
  9. I have only ever bought a couple of things from Gun Broker so I am not an avid user but I do like to go on there and look around. Recently when I access the site they tell me that they cannot verify my name or address, which I find rather odd since I have had an account with them for years. 8 or 9 years and have had 3 different addresses in that time. Have any of you had to proof yourself or verify your accounts with them? I have never heard of this. Here is what they “require”: We were unable to verify the name and address with which you registered. Please provide two forms of identification that match the name and address you have listed on your account before your account can be activated. One document must be a photo ID. You will also need to take a photo of yourself to attach to this message holding a photo ID like a driver's license as verification. END It goes on further but this is the gist of it. I am very tempted to tell them to pound sand, but I decided to see what some of you experienced GB users think. I have no idea how good their site security is. To me this almost reeks of a scam site but I did contact them through their site. What say you GB users?
  10. I will. Take good care and follow your doctor’s directions Clay. This is nothing to fool with. Trust me.
  11. Exactly Believe it or not this Henry is fun as all get out to shoot. I belong to a gun range where they have steel targets of all sorts from 15 to 100 yards. Smacking steel with 255 grain 45’s at 100 yards is a blast. Pun intended. Dang fumble fingers
  12. The 2 top helmets weren’t mine, but thank you. I have been rudely introduced to pavement and concrete a number of times. Each time my helmet struck the ground violently. I do wish I had photos of them all.
  13. It was a welcome sight to see the pilot boarding our ship when returning home from sea.
  14. In California I actively helped in fighting the helmet laws. We lost, but we fought hard. I usually wore a helmet but occasionally I loved going without one, especially down by the beach. Here is a framed poster from the last Poster Run I went on to fight the law in 91. In 92 the use helmets became mandatory. I circled myself in this picture. There were more than twice the people at this event but they couldn’t fit everyone into the picture.
  15. I think the Henry feels bulkier but the weight is okay. It feels like it is about a half pound heavier than my Winchester 94 carbine and about equal to my Marlin 336, but it’s girth or width makes it seem heavier. I added some weight to mine by adding a scope and accessories. -WARNING- The following images may cause discomfort and maybe even unpleasant physical manifestations. Should this occur, turn away and ask a trusted family member or friend to clear the screen for you.
  16. I have a Henry X model - definitely not a SASS gun - but right out of the box it had and has the smoothest action I have ever encountered on a lever action rifle. They have a long lever throw, just like a Winchester ‘94 only a heck of a lot smoother.
  17. Did I say everyone must wear a helmet? No, I didn’t.
