Probably not, which is why it’s in the Saloon. It was probably moved here.

$99 per month? Holy Crap! I thought it was like $99 for the season. Belay my last!

Do you have Amazon Prime TV? Maybe you could stream it that way? Treat yourself. You enjoy baseball. Why cause yourself distress over a fee and a small degree of difficulty. Life’s too short!

I don’t get it. Duh…Never mind When you want a #%$&ing Merge on this site it won’t do it. When you don’t, WHAM!

It’s cool. I find many women unattractive that others find pretty or beautiful. Edit; For instance, I do not find Maureen O’Hara or Doris Day all that attractive. Never have.

I know a lot of people now hate gun shows because of a variety of reasons; High prices Too many tactical guns Not enough classic guns Too many non-firearms related vendors And the list goes on… I like going to gun shows. Sure, the list above sometimes comes into play for me too, but overall I enjoy going to gun shows. Gun shows here in WV are kind of small compared to shows I have been to out west, but they’re still fun and one can find the occasional Easter Egg. The biggest gun show around is in Washington, PA. It reminds me of the Gun Shows in Southern California years ago. Lots of vendors with lots of variety. Next Saturday I have a .22LR 50 yards match at my range. Afterwards I am hitting a little jewel of a Gun Show in Clarksburg, WV. Probably the homiest Gun Show I have ever attended. I think everyone there knows each other. Lots of friendly people there. I bought the gun I posted above at that Gun Show. It was the most pleasurable gun but I have ever made. They offered me coffee and a donut while I filled out my 4473. That’s a first for me. Love going to Gun Shows!

The cylinders of the venerate .45 Colt made today could probably handle 21K PSI OF pressure but no manufacturer is going to tell you that for liability reasons. The original Vaqueros could handle hot Ruger Only loads, but Ruger would never tell you that. Manufacturers will stay with the line that their guns are rated for SAAMI cartridge pressures. Their guns may well handle much more, but if something goes wrong it’s all on you, not the manufacturer. If a manufacturer makes a .357 that will handle 35K PSI that doesn’t mean their .45 Colt will. They manufacture the .357 gun to handle that pressure. EDIT: If you want to run hot .45 Colt loads buy a gun made for .454 Casull.

Ruger RXM $425 I could buy one for $25 less online, but then I would have to pay shipping and processing. I think I did okay.

On my ship 2 Gunners Mates manned the Armory for General Quarters. Maybe situations like the potato fight precipitated that practice. -

Buying a new gun is...

Family & Stubbornness; two of the main reasons many Californians cannot or will not leave CA. My daughter, son-in-law and grandson keep talking about leaving California, but they just won’t. They all 3 grew up in CA. They talked of moving to Michigan where my son-in-law’s employer is headquartered. They talked of moving there when my grandson was talking about joining the Navy or the Air Force. Then he decided to become a firefighter and because my grandson is in community college taking a courses in fire sciences my daughter and son-in-law have decided to wait until my grandson is out of college and has a job. I understand why they won’t leave. It is their decision and their lives. I just hope they don’t live to regret not leaving. -

I darn near got myself a Savage 555 in 12 gauge for turkey hunting. Instead I actually won a Franchi Affinity 3 12 gauge at a thing they have here called a “Gun Bash”. It’s an event where you buy tickets for $25-$35 and they make drawings every 15 or 30 minutes for guns, ammo, cash, etc. usually the money goes to a charity or a town purchase of a fire truck or ambulance. Gun Bashes usually go for several hours and there are other raffles put on during the main event. It’s a fun time even though I really don’t know anyone here. Mine is an Affinity 3 matte walnut sporter. It does not kick like a mule. It’s a pleasure to shoot. I look forward to your range report once you finally receive your 28 gauge. -

@Hardpan Curmudgeon SASS #8967 That’s a nice looking shotgun. Congrats! Nice and light in 28 failure should be fun. I am assuming the one you bought is this one: https://www.sportsmans.com/shooting-gear-gun-supplies/shotguns/savage-arms-stevens-555-compact-black-semi-gloss-28-gauge-2-34in-over-under-shotgun-24in/p/1477463 -

I think I need to turn it up all the way and break the knob off.

I think the goal is gun and ammo sales, not deer being harder to kill or further away. A couple of years ago my nephews wife was bragging to me about the deer she got with her new rifle. I asked what rifle she had. “Oh, it’s a custom built rifle from (who ever the heck). It’s a tack driver .300 Win Mag.” I said “How far was the deer out there?” ”Oh, maybe 70 yards. That’s about how far it is for all my deer” I said “Holy Sh**! You ever consider a .30-30? It’s a lot cheaper, less recoil and it’ll get the job done at those distances.” She made a face and said “Who want to shoot those old things?” Yeah, she’s a pinhead…

I think that guy Alpo is referring to is just some ‘whipped guy making excuses for buying bigger guns and posting it online so he can say “Look honey, these guys agree that I need a .45!”

I tend to stay away from forums where people ask strange questions…Oh, Wait!

In 2019 I ordered several boxes of bullets from Bear Creek Supply. They shipped in one of those USPS “If it fits it ships” boxes. The postman dropped the box on its corner on the walkway up to my house rupturing 3 of the boxes inside. To be fair that sucker was heavy. 6 boxes of 500 .45 Colt bullets do tend to weigh a bit. The problem was a bunch of the bullet were damaged from slamming into each other. I complained to the post office. They gave me an insurance form to fill out. 3 months later I got a letter that my claim was denied because I don’t have insurance on the package. I went to my post office and told them that I didn’t file for insurance. I just wanted them to know about the incident. I got “the bureaucrat stare” then the “We can’t do anything about this now. You should have reported it sooner”. I uttered a couple of colorful expletives then left before I got myself into trouble

At my reloading bench, of course.

Well, if the comet does hit the events leading up to it and everything that comes with it will be like a Block-Buster movie in real time. Enjoy the thrill!
