  1. It amazed me that people that had nothing to do with the chase went towards the vehicle rather than the opposite direction as it passed by. That crazy drunk person could have had a car full of explosives. I found the video interesting at the end of the video, At the bottom left corner there is a video labeled "what lies below" it has a shot of a woman in a yellow bikini under water. It's a video of a guy on a beach with and underwater metal detector finding all sorts of things, including jewelry underwater at a beach.
  2. Tex, we have all had experiences like this, I am sure. Don't bet yourself up over it. Look at it this way, it was a learning experience. Things like this can be frustrating but you didn't didn't just throw your hands up and walk away. You are working it out and getting it worked out. Have a great day and a Happy New Year.
  3. Yes, it is only a link. I guess I learned 2 things today. One about photo sharing and the other was about Rossi 92's and 44-40 problem resolving I refuse to use Facebook so I am a "link-user"
  4. Very cool. Glad you got it figured out. I definitely learned something today.
  5. You are quite welcome. Hi-Jacking my own thread here. THAT is a nice 686. You Gents and you 686's are making me want to go out and get one. I have always been partial to 586's but a 686 might just be the thing to round out my S&W .38/.357 collection
  6. General Custer's guns are in the Frazier Museum in KY. At least that is according to an article in the Winter 2017 Guns of the Old West magazine
  7. Death is part of "Life". Imagine if nobody died. If life, as we know it, became immortal.....................okay. Done imagining...
  8. You are too funny I made a joke like this to my wife a few months back and she didn't get it...I did get some dirty looks and a bit of a tongue lashing. I have tried to live the last few years following one of my favorite Clint Eastwood lines "A man has got to know his limitations". It has helped keep me in check, haha. Maybe I should get that tattooed on the back of my hand..... Snakebite, I am still envious. That is one pretty motorcycle. I really do have to start reading my comments before I click post...I am a fumble-fingers...
  9. Allie, That method doesn't work with Amazon Prime but thanks for posting it. I tried that and I get a message that says "You are not allowed to use that image extension on this community." when I click "POST". That's okay. At least there is a way to link a photo if I wish to do so. I want to post a couple things in the "Classifieds" and I would like to be able to post braggin' photos once in a while
  10. Allie, you are the one that should be "thanked" for all you do here for us.
  11. Yep, photo 3 looks like what happened to my brass when the end of a shell got stuck in the chamber of my gun. Funny thing was it was hard to see and getting it out was a real pain. I used a wooden stick to probe the chamber and when it hit the edge of the stuck case part I had to disassemble the entire receiver section to get to the case.
  12. It does work, except I think all my photos are viewable. Not that I have anything to hide but I will have to see if that option can be modified. There, I fixed it. Thanks again Sedalia Dave. I gues I should read through all of people's posts before jumping the gun.
  13. Thanks Chief Rock and Sedalia Dave. Test:https://www.amazon.com/photos/share/sB1wM8t4nk0OezbzaKb9b719A57TD74UE8trUi2TICr Let's see if it works.
  14. Does anyone use Amazon Prime Photos for posting photos here on the Wire? I know that Photobucket and Imgur are popular but I have Amazon Prime and it comes with a free photo service. I would like to use that for posting photos here on the Wire, if that is possible.. If you head over to the Saloon you will see a thread called "Test". It's pinned at the top of the list. Allie Moe, James and Tyrel Cody are / were trying to come up with a way that we could load photos directly rather than use a photo sharing service. It appears that with the way this system is set up that this isn't possible at this time. I appreciate their efforts, Thanks very much Allie, James and Tyrel. I could have asked them this question there but a lot of you folks do not frequent the Saloon and I thought t would be nice if you knew the effort that they are putting into this issue on everyone's behalf. Being the computer / internet Luddite that I am, in some regards, I need all the help I can get Have a great day. Pat Riot
  15. Haha...That's funny. I never thought of that And here I thought you were some kind of wizard or something with all those fancy graphics and such
  16. Me too. I have ridden all types of bikes. I looked at the America but the Vulcan just fit me. Hard to explain but the overall ergonomics work for me. When I decided on a Cruiser, after checking out the Triumphs and everything else, I tried every 900 and larger Cruiser out there as well. The Vulcan won out. My days of canyon bombing on crotch rockets and raising cain on dirt bikes are over...unfortunately. I do want to get a Kawasaki KLR650 as well but my wife knows my plans for it and doesn't want me tearing up the timber trails out where there is no cell service or civilization. I guess I showed my hand in that regard talking with a salesman at the dealership. She's afraid I will go down somewhere out in the woods and will have no way to communicate. I guess she wants to keep me around a bit longer...for some reason.
  17. Very nice upgrade Utah Bob...and Congrats.
  18. It appears the bricks...never mind. Subdeacon Joe answered it much better than I ever could have with words just as I started typing. That is a neat trick though.
  19. I have worked in public transit agencies for 23 years of my adult life. PC is a way of life in these agencies but I have somehow managed to not get fired from any of them...I came close a couple of times but my work and my reputation has outweighed the stupidity that I have had to deal with. That and I am pretty good at twisting these people up when they need it.
  20. I wanted a Triumph but I was torn between the Scrambler and the T100 or a Vulcan 900. I ended up with a Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Classic LT because I have arthritis in my hips now. The seat and sitting position on the Triumph caused my hips to hurt only after sitting on the bike a few minutes. Oh, I am not complaining. I am very happy with my bike but I am envious I hope you have many happy and safe miles on your new Christmas toy, Snakebite.
  21. This might be a dumb question but are you sure there isn't a sleeve in the chamber left behind by a casing that ripped apart inside the chamber when a bad case was extracted? I had this happen once with some brass that had been reloaded one too many times. When I ejected the case most of the case came out but left behind was about .15" of the end of the casing. The next round in got mangled and then subsequent empty cases fed in during troubleshooting were damaged almost exactly as you describe. It took a very stout 90 degree pick to get the brass sleeve out and I had to be very careful not to gouge the chamber. I blunted the pick by grinding off a little bit of the tip so it was dull. This was in a Winchester 94 many years ago. Almost forgot. It took 2 picks to get it out. I had to use a straight pick and get it between the case piece and pry it up before I could use the 90 degree pick to pluck it out. This may not be your problem but if it is you could fix it yourself and not have to ship it.
  22. My condolences and prayers to George's family.
  23. I would have tweeted back: This middle finger has a sexist undertone too...if I were a tweeting twit using Twitter...now I need a drink or twa...Bottles?
  24. I was at Cabela's in Tualatin Oregon a couple of times over the past 2 weeks and Loophole is right. Lots more powders and such. There was a nice selection of .22 and .22 WMR but none of the higher quality stuff in .22LR. Mostly oddly named plinking fodder and some CCI standard velocity. I have shopped at many different Bass Pros and Cabela's. Each business has it's strong points. Bass Pro = Fishing, Cabela's = hunting and shooting. I really hope they both don't muck it all up with this merger. I love the Gun Library at Cabela's. In regards to Cabela's clothing versus Bass Pro's it's a draw. Camping and such, samey-same. Since Bass Pro bought Cabela's, which I find to be odd - thought Cabela's would have bought BP, I truly hope the Gun Library stays put. It's my main attraction when I go to Cabela's.
  25. That is very nice. You must have been a good boy this year. I love Triumphs.
