I went back to glasses. I started wearing glasses at 5 years old and still wear them at 65.
I had contacts twice for about 3 months each.
The first pair caused me to crash my bike. The left lens popped out and I pulled off the road on Topanga Canyon road and didn’t see the 1’ drop and blammo! Me and the bike bit the dust.
Destroyed my helmet, screwed up my bike and I lost the lens.
Similarly, the left lens popped out on my when I was climbing a rock face in Joshua Tree Nat’l Monument. I was about 90’ up and the lens popped out and landed on my cheek. Hanging by one hand with precarious footing I managed to get my contacts container out, unscrew the lid and scoop the lens into the container, recap it and put the container back in my pack. I finished the rest of the climb with one eye closed.
When we got back to camp I threw the lenses in the trash.
Never again.
