  1. If I didn’t already have a Ruger PC Carbine I would definitely consider a Henry Homesteader, especially after i found out they made it so it would take Glock mags.

Just for giggles, here is one of my favorite long guns…and I like it because it is ugly. :P

  2. Such a fantastic design. I cannot believe these aren’t made even today.
The picture doesn’t show a parts diagram for the spacers and hardware.
I’m sure people probably made up names for them. Here are some of my ideas on that and I am placing the name in a sentence for context:

    - Those “****ing tabs” are always in the way.
    - The “gawd-d***ed spacers” keep flopping about!
    - Every time I get this wrench on a nut in a tight space and I take the wrench off to reset it for the next pull the “Sonofab****ing metal adapters” go haywire!

Only those sentences were probably said in German as those wrenches were developed for the German Submarine Service.

I am pretty sure that Jacques Huber was cursed often.

  3. I tell people directly to park on the street. I have no problem with that. If they balk or whine I ask them to pay my mortgage / rent for a month then they can park on “our” driveway for that month.
    Never had any takers.

Furthermore, I never presume to use the driveway of friends, relatives or acquaintances. I believe it’s rude to park in a driveway if I wasn’t told or invited to do so.

    That's just me.

Sounds to me like you need a different doctor.

    I agree.

I have a rule with doctors. 1 bad diagnosis can always be corrected, depending on the doctor’s attitude on his or her bad diagnosis. Bad attitude - I go elsewhere

Apologetic attitude - they get another chance. ONE chance.

    Interesting!

My Grandfather, William George S (or Willie George as he was known), as a younger man, was a logger.

He told us tales of the days of winter logging here in Canada and the spring log drives either down the Gatineau River to the Ottawa River and the E.B. Eddy Mill or from Mattawa, down the Ottawa River to the mill, depending on where they did that winter's cut.

I remember him singing "The Log Drivers Waltz" at a family get together.

    Found it:
