  1. This bag looks interesting. I may get one myself.
I have tactical gun bags made by US Peacekeeper. They have mag pouches that will hold 2-30 round AR-15 mags. They also hold a 20 round AR-10 (.308) magazine each.

    From a 1902 article.

When traveling, always carry a tiny box of flaxseed for possible cinders. The instant a foreign substance is felt in the eye throw the head back and drop two or three flaxseeds on the ball of the eye and lift the upper lid and draw it down over them, so as to hold them in. There is no disagreeable sensation attached to putting the seed in, and the relief will come instantly. The moisture of the eye dampens the seed, and it gives out a mucous substance, which spreads over the eye and covers the grit. After awhile the seeds will begin to work out and Fix this textwill bring the offending particles with them

I am gonna hafta say “Nay” on this one.
I had a heckuva time putting contacts in my eyes years ago.

But I will keep this in mind. Thanks Dave.

  3. Der…Duh…I missed the “exploding” plate thing in Marshal’s post and was wondering why y’all were joking about it.

In CA-CA the new status symbol is the digital plate. It’s literally an LED screen as a license plate. The plate can display messages to police and others like “EXPIRED” if registration isn’t paid or “STOLEN” if the car is stolen and reported. Apparently the Ministry of People’s Movement has control over these plates. They can also track you via GPS.

I asked one smarmy Tesla driving member of the CA collective about his plate and he went into a brainwashed litany of how great they are. I stopped him and asked him if he realized that since it has GPS the CHP could feasibly at some point start handing out speeding tickets due to his shiny new watchdog on the a** end of his car.

    Brainwashed litany OVER.

I love it when I can brighten a CA-CA citizen’s day and show them how inept and gullible they are.

  4. Congratulations Forty Rod. That’s some cool information. :)

I was avidly searching on Ancestry and all kinds of internet treasure troves looking for info on everyone in my family tree. I had my Dad’s side tracked back to the 1730’s and my Mom’s side back to 1717. I was telling one of my sisters about this when she says “Did you know that Mom’s father was not her real father, her birth father?”

I thought maybe she was just messing with me then she added “Call Aunt Helen. She’ll tell you about it.”

    So I did.
Here I am, 60 years old, just then learning that my Mom’s real father was a neighbor boy my grandma fooled around with at age 16.

This pretty much took the wind out of my sails regarding researching my family’s history.
    I lost interest.
I spent lots of hours and lots of money on this project.

I may take up the task again this year but my enthusiasm about it just isn’t what it once was.

  5. “Lawn of your dreams”

Do not buy a house in a neighborhood that has one house with a “dream lawn” when everyone else just has a lawn. The person with the dream lawn is usually a real and true pain in the a**. Especially if the prevailing winds send your dandelion seeds his way.
It irks them. Then that irks you. Then harsh words are spoken. Threats are made on one side while promises are made on the other. Fantasies of leaving messages in the grass using “Kill All” or gasoline dance in one’s dreams.

It’s a vicious annual circle. Things just don’t go well. Avoid those neighborhoods if at all possible.
