  1. If it wasn't then Marlin really screwed the pooch on this 39. During the first 50 rounds the gun became difficult to lever. I took it apart only to find metal shavings everywhere... the action was literally eating itself... Surprisingly Bass Pro took it back and swapped me a Marlin that worked as it should.
  2. The absolute worst rifle I ever had was an early Remlin model 39 .22 caliber. The absolute best rifle from Marlin I have is also a Remlin and it is a 45-70 caliber GBL. Go figure. πŸ˜€
  3. You DO sleep once in a while, right?
  4. So... Pagers are now more dangerous than AR15s?
  5. Pat, 190,000 miles on a Toyota is just getting broke in. Take it to a garage you trust for a pre-purchase inspection. That is money well spent, in my experience. We have several Toyotas in the family although no Tacomas (yet). All are going strong well into mid and high 200,000 milage ranges. New truck prices are unbelievably insanely high yet people keep paying them. I guess some folks don't need to buy groceries...
  6. I figure Blazing Saddles shown today would be the opening credits immediately followed by the closing credits due to easily offended people who hate humor and love cancel culture. Blazing Saddles is a seriously funny movie. πŸ˜€
  7. Sad news. I loved watching his videos. The firearms world lost another great spokesman and advocate and I have no doubt his friends and family lost a wonderful loved one.
  8. That's quite the itinerary! You're gonna be a busy man... good thing you're done with work.
  9. I watched the Guy Richie movie Snatch several years back. Very funny movie. THEN I rewatched it with subtitles and it was funnier! Lots of British accents and some Pikey thrown in that now makes more sense. I use subtitles most of the time now on everything... life is easier this way. Huh? What?
  10. Well stated, Major. We always have a good time and the work you put into this is always very appreciated. Looking forward to it! Oh, and I will happily throw in funds for the CC awards again. 😁
  11. It sounds like at least as much hassle as bringing firearms into California or New Jersey or Illinois. No thanks.
  12. Saw it on the big screen in the theater and it was quite excellent. Got the DVD later and have watched it a couple more times. Very enjoyable movie. As previously mentioned I thought the cinematography was incredible. The storyline deviated with artistic license from the real Hugh Glass story but that's fine as movies do this and I did not expect a historical documentary. The brutal fight for survival in both the historical account and the theatrical version is almost painful to watch/read and very, very well done.
  13. I noticed in my neighborhood kids began playing outdoors A LOT more than usual during the covid19 school shutdown. Kids on the HOA B-Ball court, kids riding bikes and scooters all over, kids just walking, running and chasing each other around the HOA commons area, kids out walking their dogs... This did not slow down when the covid restrictions ended as these kids seem to really enjoy their outdoor time. They are still going outdoors and still playing as if it's the thing to do. Maybe covid showed them outdoors can be and is to be enjoyed.
  14. Smith and Wesson wooden presentation case. Shown (not included) with model 57 (6 inch barrel). With original paperwork. Very good condition. $225 shipped US48. Can take PP/FF.
  15. Always love some Clint Smith stuff! Great alias, by the way.
  16. You need to quit babyin' your left paw and git yourself shootin double duelist, little brother. You'll love it AND look cool doing it.
