Yes you pull the rope which releases the mine cart. The scenario is you jump in the cart and shoot the stage as it moves down range.

    Oh I forgot it's 10-10 +6

Has anybody told you you're evil?

  2. Here's a thought out of left field.  Eliminate the Spirit of the Game penalty but bump the procedural penalty up to 20 seconds.  By doing that you allow the shooter to dump any remaining rounds on a single target without having to be the Amazing Kreskin to figure out why they did it.  But at the same time, there's no way they can outshoot the penalty.

In the scenario written above, I would say shooter A has a P and a SOG.  Shooter B did not try to gain a competitive advantage, they just didn't know what to do.  They get a P and a little discussion about how they should do it differently in the future.

For my own education as a TO, how should the do it differently in the future?

One of the best improvements I have made in reloading straight case ammo is wet tumbling. Resize and deprime with a carbide die, bell the case and into the wet tumbler it goes. I use stainless pins and a little dish washer soap and in about two hours the cases are spotless inside and out. All the muck goes down the drain and there is no dust. Dry the batch of cases on paper towels over night. I do look in every case after they are dry for stray pins and that is a great time to look for cracked or split cases also.

That seems backwards.  Isn't most of the reason for cleaning the cases to prevent damage to your dies?

    Hey Shooting Bull,

PM me your phone number and I'll try to share a particular 'Theory' with you.

For me personally, one of the gremlins that seems to bite me more often in a match is reholstering my pistols SMOOTHLY

    and quickly.

You sure nailed that.  As a Double Duelist I SHOULD be able to reholster the first pistol and be grabbing my next gun while shooting the second pistol.  Far too often I mess up the first step, reholstering the first pistol.

Haven't we talked about this?  You're about 2 months late getting started.

As Widder said, "best bang for the buck" is in transitions.  All of them, ever conceivable combination.

Oh yeah, more than once. :D  Only two months late?  Dang, I'm doing better than I thought.

  8. With EOT only a few short weeks away I figure it's about time to start getting ready. :D

What are your most effective practice techniques?  When I say effective I mean, what actually leads to noticeably improved performance in a match?

I've seen a lot of folks say their monthly matches are their practice.  I can see how that would improve performance under match conditions.

Other folks say they break down every movement they make and practice each one individually either during dry fire sessions at home or live fire sessions at the range.

Something in between?  What works for you?

I’m considering changing out the barrel on a NMV Bisley 45Colt from the  stock 5 1/2 round to 7 1/2 octagon, but I haven’t seen on the wire where this has been done.

i’ve seen a few pistols with the octagon barrel at 5” or shorter but haven’t seen longer barrels in octagon. Other than cost, any other considerations I should be made aware of? I think the 1851 pistol is a real beauty and that’s my inspiration for the Ruger, but on a Bisley frame.

Maybe for Rugers 7.5 only makes sense in the lighter round barrel?

if anyone has had this done, I’d much appreciate a picture and any insights.

    Thanks,

Yeah, weight is the consideration that first popped into my mind.  I'd say adding both length and girth to those barrels is gonna change the balance a LOT.

Probably have to ask a few ladies how much of a difference it makes.

You can either send me a PM with your new alias and I'll change it.  Or, you can call the SASS Office and they'll change it.  Either will do.

I'll check my messages again in about 10 min.  More coffee first.

  11. Ford vs Chevy

    9mm vs 45 ACP

    Beans or no beans

    Less filling vs tastes great

    Ginger vs Mary Ann

Best is subjective.  Mine were done by Lassiter and I absolutely love them.

    P.S. Correct answers:

    Ford

    45 ACP

    No beans

    I don't like beer

    Both!
