  1. Powder coated bullets are very popular in Australia, probably around 90% use them, like them myself but as I have a magna-caster & with the time you put into it I am not prepared to spend extra time coating bullets....

  2. Nice run Mohawk. :) And now that you've been bit by the Darkside bug, I'm sure you'll find (just like I did) that smokeless just won't cut it any more! Nothin but real black for me for the last 6 years now.

And thanks Grizz for the help you provide to us 'technically challenged' cowfolk! :P

    Howdy Titus

That must be about the time [ 2011 ] when we met you at the Powder Creek Cowboy shoot..I too will end up shooting BP fulltime , just not yet.

All the best to you & Fannie....Mohawk

  3. Hi Folks,

Thanks Alli for trying..I'm danged if I can do it ...as I said don't have vids of my shooting so when Kathouse Kelli took this one I thought I'd put it up..luv the BP & maybe one day will shoot it fulltime...if anyone can help I don't have a link but can send it attached to an email..Regards Mohawk

  4. Hardpan: I'm in Ontario, Canada, so our employment laws are likely different.

That said, here in Ontario, Canada, the circumstances of your leaving, could be construed as a firing.

Here, if your labour lawyer gets involved, you may get a very hefty pay-out for every year you were with the company.

    Food for thought.

In any case, enjoy your retirement, but if mine is any indication, you'll be busier than ever!! LOL 1

Howdy Cold Lake..Similar here in Australia & further there are some companies that pay out a percentage of unused sick pay & if the employee gives notice & the employer brings the date forward then the $$ are still paid for the employee's date..but then our notice periods are only 1-4 weeks.Wages are 'Much' higher here than the USA however our cost of living is very much higher. Also we have compulsory superannuation payments made by the employer to employee's fund [ presently around 10% ]..13 weeks long service pay after 15 years & 4 weeks vacation pay each year.Although this is what should happen there are still employers who don't do the right thing! I was in the 90's a union official & had great pleasure in busting the rogues.

    Enjoy your retirement Hardpan ....

  5. SKB is just a whole lot better..well that's my thinkin' & I'm sticking to it..changed to a 200E 7 months ago & love it !! All slicked up & works a treat..bought for a bargain so that helped .

  6. Mine were done 6 month's apart. Worst eye first. Had to have'em remove the lens from my glasses on the right side as the old correctives were driving me nuts. Wore those glasses that way until the second surgery

Yep that's it..I decided the morning after surgery I was getting the 2nd done as soon as possible , especially after a fellow patient had just had his other eye done because it drove him nuts seeing 2' different sight pictures'...could've been a lot cheaper here if done when on the aged pension but I wasn't willing to wait 18 months..expensive but well worth it ..well I'II know for sure after Jan 11th.

  7. Howdy

Short story is...Doc says,'You have a couple of Cataracts starting, you can leave them for a while or do them now, so I says book me in Doc I'II do one now [ master eye of course ].

Two weeks after & I've already booked the 2nd on Jan 11th, WOW what a difference & with both eyes done hopefully it looks like no script glasses for the 'Indian...so look out that first target [especially with the pistol ] as there will be a piece of lead comin' at ya' bit quicker.

And here's a laugh I had a Dr Zabell but it could have been Dr Searight..imagine what more tricks he could have performed !

  8. I like Red Dot, 7/8 oz shot, claybuster wads. cost is about 4.50/box (not counting my time) so yea, I save a few $$$$ probably 18-20/month. not a huge deal, but in 2-3 years pays for a gun!

plus, I get the satisfaction of loading my own ammo.

Yep same here Hoss, knocks em' all down & recoil friendly..not a lot of powder for me as I wanted the wife to have no worries shooting them, now use them myself ..chrono at 950fps, good enough for Cowboy !

  9. I have a Royal Light (single trigger, like Dueces that's for sale) that I bought from Johnny Meadows about 7 or 8 years ago. If I remember correctly, he told me they were mostly sold in Australia, not seen very frequently here in the states.

Yep down under & New Zealand

You would think that being all thumbs would work in my favor for a hammered double but alas it REALLY does not.

    I gotta keep it simple.

You may recall I had a stock TTN double.

I shouda spent some money and had it worked on but I'm stubborn and cheap.

Still thinking hard about the bandoleer thing though. :)

    Yep that's it..go no further ..SKB 200 & a Bandoleer..'Perfect''

  11. It can get tricky when shooting those odd stages that require both movement and a lot of shotgun targets. Both the movement and the weight loss as you shoot shells can have it slipping. It's pretty rare though.

That gave me issues at first until I figured out where best to place the bottom concho

I had the strings come untied once and the darn thing slid off during a stage, but hasn't happened since. What are you planning to replace the strings with?

Howdy Redwood...Used a piece of thin nylon [ yellow ] rope, can tie or burn the ends. Lasts forever.

  12. It has never hindered me shouldering my rifle or SG.

No problems here also..once used to the Bandoleer you don't really notice them & you can have it off between stages.

Had my first hiccup last week when the leather lace at the top of the shoulder where the Bandoleer is joined snapped..because of sweat etc..lasted 3 years so will replace with something more durable.

  13. I had him do 6 12ga loops at the top, then 4 44-40 bullet loops, then 8 12ga loops at the bottom, and finally 8 12ga loops on the back.
