Mine is with me 24 hours a day.....but only in heart and soul. I say "Hey Booge" every morning to his picture. Cross between a black lab and a dobie....best friend I ever had.

The word "Hero" or "Legend" is tossed around way too easily these days.
For Mr. Glenn, it actually applies. RIP John Glenn
Well put Creeker.......
Thank you Mr. Glenn for having the courage to forge the "Final Frontier".
Rest in Peace

John Glenn, a major pioneer in jet development and the "race for space" died today at age 95. He was the first American to orbit the Earth in 1962.
Thank you for having the courage to be a trail blazer in the Final Frontier.
Rest in Peace Mr. Glenn

We should have never dropped two atomic bombs on Japan.
It should have been 200
Nope, two was enough. Unconditional surrender is what followed, not the total destruction of Japan and it's people.
The ranks of WWII vets is getting smaller all of the time. I've had the pleasure of knowing several of them, may they rest in peace now. On this day, 75 years ago, for many the war began......for some, it never ended.
God Bless the Greatest Generation and all of those who preceded and followed.

Regardless is anyone liked him politically (I didn't), the man is still one of a few breed. It takes a WHOLE BUNCH of guts to sit on top of a flying bomb (the Atlas boosters were'nt exactly known for their reliablity) and maintain your focus and professionalism. He did this throughout his military career and his NASA career.
He was a hero when America needed one. Not a made up hero.....a true hero.
I'll not forget his political views but I can never thank him enough for his contributions to the Service and Country.
