  1. Scammer all the way. If you sent him funds...your fund are gone. There is a thread called "Can anybody vouch for" on page 2 concerning the scammer in question. I thoroughly suggest that you read this entire thread along with the other scammer threads below it before purchasing anything from here or any other site.
  2. The last time I talked to a very well known gunsmith about short stroking my .38/357 Bisleys, he told me that I'd only get about .25" difference. A quarter inch difference for $400 each + shipping wasn't worth it to me. I'd contact the popular short stroke gunsmiths to check prices before purchasing Bisleys.
  3. I double dare you!
  4. Yes, I'm a Goat person!
  5. They'd go with his glasses.
  6. That is simply not true. I have used a taper crimp on .38 spl loads for the last 20 years in CAS tube rifles and have NEVER had a round push back into the case. When first experimenting with the taper crimp, I tested it numerous times with a seated bullet in empty brass (no powder/primer) sitting upright on concrete with a hammer. Tapped lightly at first with gradually harder taps. The only thing that happened was crumpled brass and a ruined bullet that stayed crimped in place. If taper crimped correctly, it's a better crimp than roll crimping IMO. Edit - I'm guessing that's about 25,000+ rounds with zero issues over that 20 years.
  7. I thought he said "Goodbye yellow brick road".
  8. I used to like TB's enchiritos and burritos. Never like their hard tacos as I'm not a lettuce lover and they didn't put enough cheese on them. TB progressively got worse through the years, probably due to trying to double and triple the menu with the result of nothing was good anymore. So far as non-TB goes, I prefer soft tacos or home made burritos. The hard tacos are okay every once in a while but I like the soft ones better. Extra meat, extra cheese with hot sauce, sour cream and diced tomatoes for me on both.
  9. Meanwhile, foreign real estate agents are sitting on their thumbs just waiting for their phone calls. I wish they would leave...I'd say Well, Bye! I'll believe the Nationwide reciprocity when I see it, but I'll probably die of old age before it gets done playing out in the courts.

  11. That was 1984! Ronald Reagan was there at the race. There is a picture somewhere of Air Force One landing at the airport behind the track and Petty's race car on the track during the race, all in the same picture frame. Don't forget, Bobby Allison also drove a AMC Matador (#16) in a couple of NASCAR races also!
  12. Rusty dumped him and lost a ton of fans that night. Him and Waltrip still harp at each other about that night at the Winston. Never could stand Waltrip until he retired from driving, I liked him in the booth. I was at the Firecracker 400 in Daytona when Waltrip flipped so many times on the back stretch and ended up upside down with fuel pouring all over the ground. Broke his leg in that one IIRC.
  13. Everyone always had someone, some driver they were 'pulling' for...and the driver they hated. The wrestling comparison is spot on, especially with local short track racing. Local favorites, heroes and villains. Lots of fun. It's where race car drivers and race fans get their start!
  14. Any and all fluorescent lamps "require" special clean up and disposal, not just the CFL types. IMO, fluorescent lamp maintenance, care and disposal has always been a PITA. I changed all of the fluorescent lamps in my house (kitchen, both baths, garage) to 120 volt LED 4' tubes years ago. I went with 4,000K in color rendition because the 2,700K lamps didn't produce enough brightness for my gals liking. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Note for the folks that want to change over from fluorescent tube type lighting to LED. There are (in reality) two options for change out. One is to use 120/277 (dual voltage) LED lamps. This requires re-wiring of the existing fluorescent fixture by disconnecting the existing ballast and changing the wiring to the lampholders (called tombstones) to 120 volt by putting the "hot" wire at one end and the neutral at the other. This can be done with the existing wiring within the fixture by almost anyone with mechanical ability and knowledge. The other is to use LED replacement tubes that utilize the existing fluorescent ballast. This is basically a one for one swap out. The drawback to this kind of LED lamp is that it only reduces power usage very slightly and still relies on the old ballast to operate. When the ballast goes bad, and it will, it will need replacement for the LED lamp to work.
  15. Actually Obama started the death roll on the incandescent lamp. Trump stopped the roll until he left office. Biden started it back up and as of last August, they are now "banned" with the exception of some "specialty" lamps such as the ones for appliance usage. You can expect the same for CFL type lamps soon.
  16. You should probably keep some bananas handy just in case they try to flank you. Keep the monkey of your back, so to say.🙉
  17. NASCAR legend Bobby Allison has passed away at the age of 86. Mr. Allison won 85 races during his NASCAR career, including the Daytona 500 (twice). He was unintentionally partially responsible for the rapid growth in the popularity of NASCAR racing due to a fight with Cale Yarborough after the 1979 Daytona 500 race was over. The race had been televised, start to finish, on live tv. Much of the country was snowed in and many people (not snowed in but myself included) were watching as Yarborough and Bobby's brother, Donnie, crashed while leading on the last lap. Bobby stopped at the crash site to make sure that Donnie was okay and to give him a lift back to the garage area. An altercation ensued between Yarborough and Bobby Allison. Allison described it as "Cale decided to hit his (Cale's) nose repeatedly on my fist". Many race fans were created that day. In 1988 at Talladega super speedway, Allison's car went airborne at the end of the first lap of the race after cutting a tire. The car flew into the main grandstand fence at 200 mph, tearing down 300' of fence. Allison was uninjured in the crash but debris from the crash injured multiple fans in the stands, a few seriously. It was just luck that the car didn't get through the fencing and go into the stands which would have killed dozens. After that crash, NASCAR mandated that the cars would use carburetor restrictor plates to slow them down in (failed) attempt to keep them on the pavement in the event of a crash. This eventually led to the devices used today to keep the cars on the ground. Bobby had his share of tragedy in his life. In 1988, a few months after winning his second Daytona 500, he was seriously injured in a crash at Pocono raceway which ended his career. He was declared dead at the hospital but brought back by lifesaving efforts of the emergency room doctors. He was left in a vegetative state that he was eventually able to overcome through rigorous physical/mental rehab. He never got all of his memory back and had "blank" areas for the rest of his life after that. He never competitively drove a race car again. In 1992, his son Clifford was killed in a racing crash at Michigan Intl Speedway. In 1993, his son Davey was killed in a helicopter crash at Talladega Super Speedway when he got the tail rotor into a fence while landing. I always enjoyed watching Mr. Allison drive a race car. My favorite memory of his was him winning the 1988 Daytona 500 with his son, Davey, finishing a close second. Seeing the two in victory lane is etched into my memory forever. Thanks for all of the great racing that you provided over the years. Rest in Peace Mr. Allison
  18. Lamp "colors" are really temperature color ratings. If you're looking for a sunshine type color, the 2,700K rendition is a good starting point. Office type lighting is generally in the 4,000K rating, Lamps in the 5,000K and 6,000K range are generally used for bright light applications and can be blinding. The main reason for premature LED lamp failure is voltage surges and fluctuations. LED lamps use a kind of transformer (for lack or a better description) called a driver. The drivers don't like voltage that is out of their specifications. The LED lamps themselves do not like liquid intrusion either.
  19. Get off my lawn...damn whippersnapper.
  20. Micky Dolenz has given his endorsement to them!
  21. My thought also. Saw somewhere, "They were too young to have been used in an experiment".
  22. Hmm...jeopardize my FFl license for a $100? Boy, that's a poser.
  23. I would have taken care of the greetings upon the first interaction with the proprietor.
  24. I have a Forster that I've never used. I'd sell it for $50.00 + shipping if someone wants it. Everything that you see in the pictures would be included, except the mounting board. I got this in a group of reloading stuff that I traded for. Widder would have 1st dibs.
