  1. Why not? What is so hard about the idea of not using a term to describe people that they are clearly on record as finding offensive?
  2. Dead Last Hopeless Forelorn
  3. I prefer, the Shatner, comma.
  4. Phantom Well said throughout. J. Mark
  5. We should understand that colored is an offensive term by now. Defending its use is offensive.
  6. As he opened the door I watched in amusement as his eyes grew wide. "Easy there pard, just been trying to catch up to you to give you what you deserve." I said slowly as I reached into my breast pocket and produced a letter extending it to Father Kit. "Seems someone thought enough of you to leave you some property hereabouts and though I'm retired, I wanted to get you the deed while I was in the area." Father Kit seemed to relax at that point and I, having completed my chore tipped my hat and wished him well. "You leaving town already? There's trouble here" Father Kit said matter of factly. I chuckled "There is always trouble, everywhere. That's the nature of man. I have my own troubles to tend to from time to time even. I've got miles to go before I sleep." I turned and headed off towards my horses and headed back to the hole I'd crawled out of. . . so to speak.
  7. I used an oversized stone dressed to a shape that would work without removing any of the rim shelf. Just reshaped it with a second stone.
  8. congrats, she's a beauty and the older one is even better!
  9. Roofing would be my #1 thing I don't like to do. Anything on my knees is unpleasant so I try and farm out stuff that I don't want to do.
  10. Prayers for a talented surgeon and some bodacious nurses.
  11. 40Rod, That was how I initially learned about this!
  12. Sam, I have a number of walking sticks my father made before he passed. We learned that by soaking them in kerosene for two weeks, that the wood would be preserved beautifully as the paraffin in the kerosene replaces the moisture in the wood cells as the wood dries out. Most woods cleaned up easily after that and the wood often will simply polish up without any additional finish. Build a trough and put the sticks in a heavy plastic bag with them completely covered in kerosene for two weeks, If they are straight enough you could also use a PVC tube with end caps;then remove them and let them air dry until there is no smell. . During this time the bark will usually strip off easily. Once cured, bark can be removed with a sand blaster and . . . perhaps a wire wheel used on a grinder
  13. During the TP shortage, I thought there might be
  14. Hard cast lead has long been used to hunt fairly large animals. They will serve fine for defensive use at close range, even if some super sophisticated jacketed bullet might somehow do better.
  15. Keep in mind that new equipment has substantial mark up and good profits for the dealers. Selling your used equipment potentially costs them the sale of existing inventory.
  16. I don't shoot Wild bunch, but I'm curious if any clubs deviate and allow 20 Ga. I have a Model 12 20 Ga I may sell and would offer it here is there was a market, but don't want to sell someone something they can't use.
  17. "They laughed at him Mississippi, That'll make all the difference"
  18. Damn Alpo, it is really hard to believe you don't smoke that mary jane
  19. Reminds me of this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raines_law It was stupid then and it is stupid now.
  20. Deleted a long reply and replacing it with this. Your proposal is ridiculous, unworkable and would simply be another way for politicians to manipulate the system. If you are bored, why don't you go bake some cookies or something
  21. You need a team to go out on a busy street! Obviously my statement wasn't meant literally, I guess I should have said something about situational awareness,
  22. My concerns with any right handed rifle being used left handed is in the event of a failure like a ruptured case, the design will throw all the pressure at the center of the face. Semi autos throw brass and some do throw it backwards which can turn off a new shooter. As to eye dominance, he says it is left, but I am not so sure. Need some range time!
