When I lived in Hawaii the state had to pass a special law in order to allow the Honolulu Zoo to obtain two male snakes to display. Often have wondered if that’s ever changed. Based on the snake problems in Florida it would be a true catastrophe if even a few got loose in Hawaii. Seamus

I recall hearing about a couple of carjackers being pursued by the police in San Francisco who pulled into the projects hitting an object as they did which deployed the airbags. They then ran into to project complex still chased by officers who had no trouble identifying them since they were the only people around covered with that white talcum powder like dust you described. By the way, this occurred a few years back when SFPD was still arresting criminals. Seamus

As I recall Van Dorn was a classic example of the Peter Principle. The farther he advanced in rank the poorer his performance became. His best work was taking out Grant’s supply depot at Holly Springs which significantly delayed his campaign on the Mississippi. Seamus
