  1. I think a lot of shooters know someone like that. Ours would make a big deal about the same kind of stuff until I pointed out that my 38 rifle rounds @ 147 gr at 750 fps generated 110 PF while his 45's running 160 gr at 550 fps only made 88 PF. Was downright annoying to him to see ballistics in action! Sometimes wonder whatever happened to him. Pretty nice guy otherwise. Regards Gateway Kid
  2. I always tell my competitors that the fast guys run blind folded, winter gloves and shoes laced to each other! only way I can keep up don’t you know! Regards Gateway Kid
  3. Look similar to the Indian Runners that we used to train our Australian Shepherd’s. Cheaper than sheep, about the same as chickens in terms of how hard they are to train and pretty durable when they get laid on or crammed into a tight pen. PS They run, don’t fly. Regards Gateway Kid
  4. Replied and will head for po in the morning Gateway Kid
  5. Looking for a replacement for an older 3x9 fullfield Burris on a 308. I am a little confused by the description on the Burris site as to parallax setting. I am intending this to be a 100-400 yard gun. If you think it will work for that I will take it Gateway Kid
  6. I am still planning on attending the classes. Looking forward to seeing everyone there! Regards Gateway Kid Rustler I will send you a PM to confirm my contact details.
  7. Ha Ha Ha Ha! Love the "don't know snow" . I moved to the west slope in '96 from Denver to get out of the snow and partially succeeded. Far as I am concerned snow should stay in the mountains to ski on. Here in Grand Junction we typically get (at most) 2-6 inches in a big storm from time to time. So far this year is behind schedule at about 3.1 inches total with another 1 or 2 expected by Saturday. Up on the Grand Mesa they are at about 60" so far and slightly behind last year but looking good for March (which is our wettest month) The Central mountains YESTERDAY got 12-50 inches depending where they were and though some did set records in most cases they were not even close to a record! I saw where Nashville set a record and reached their yearly total with 6 inches bringing them to 7 inches. Until you have driven on snow where you leave trenches from your axle pumpkins or had your semi's front bumper dragging or been on a sloping roadway at a stop and the car slides downhill all by itself, or had your front door pushed in by a snowdrift reaching the roof line I think there are a lot of people who "know snow" here. Of course that doesn't include the "flatlanders" who can't drive very well on dry roads! Regards (and stay warm!) Gateway Kid
  8. I am just glad that she is a “she”! These days some of these events choose just about anyone or anything as their champion other than a beautiful woman. Whatever happened to appreciating and celebrating all the wonderful differences that the ladies bring to the world? Regards Gateway Kid
  9. This ^^^^^^^ Sometimes speaking facts can make others uncomfortable. Truths can be frightening. That doesn’t mean we should not discuss them. Taken in the context you intended (or any other) sounds like a grounded sermon. Well done. Regards Gateway Kid
  10. Probably going to delay taking down the Christmas stuff as well! Regards Gateway Kid
  11. Certainly praying for all of you to find relief in some way or fashion someday. I have herniated L4 & L5 years ago but (knock on wood) it has never degenerated into the pain you are experiencing. Hang in there guys and maybe science will catch up and develop a true solution for you. Respectfully Gateway Kid
  12. Now hold on just a minute here! I just reviewed Men in Black and K definitely told J that the aliens gave us velcro at the worlds fair back in the early '50's! I am thinking a good copyright lawyer might need to be involved here! Regards (just goofing around wit ya) Gateway Kid
  13. Exactly without research into the space program, we wouldn’t have Tang! And without MIB we wouldn’t have Velcro! (saw that on the internet, so must be true) Regards Gateway Kid
  14. Pretty sure we are all consigned to hell but it was pretty funny! Regards Gateway Kid
  15. Loved Jack London Mom and one of my aunts went in on several of his works and would give me one for my birthday and one for Christmas over several years. I would stay up all night to finish a chapter/book. Gave them to my brother and lost track of where they went from there. Obviously "Call of the Wild" and "White Fang" but also "The Star Rover" and "The Scarlet Plague" were all favorites Regards Gateway Kid
  16. Man stuff (6 in 1) is available at which store please! Regards Gateway Kid
  17. We are not going to make it are we? Sadly Gateway Kid
  18. looks pretty happy about it as well!!! where is that darned sarcasm emoji anyway? Regards Gateway Kid
  19. Any time you have a single subject case study ALL conclusions are suspect. No attempt was made to isolate other sources of lead in the subjects home, immediate surroundings, or other lifestyle activities. Also 3,000 rounds per year is a relatively small number, about 250 per month, and can be easily compared to high volume shooters with round counts of over 1,000 or more per month and lead levels of 4 (like yours truly some months). If the case subject is asymptomatic I just don't understand the "critical" nature of their conclusions regarding future tenents of the home or guests inside. Especially their calls for continuous monitoring of the subject and his home. 12 - 14 is not particularly high for an adult male and I saw they are using the developing child standard of 4 as a max. Regards Gateway Kid
  20. Around here our greenhouses are made of plastic wrap or plexiglass. I guess in Australia even the weather is trying to kill you. Regards Gateway Kid BTW I got all your questions, where is my official senior citizen card?
  21. Sounds good but might be more work than it is worth. If you put a value on your time that cost could easily be greater than the satisfaction of doing something that others could or would not take on. Like others I would be interested in how things turn out but probably not a project I want to take on. Good luck in your endeavor Regards Gateway Kid
  22. Just got home from grocery shopping. Gas 3.299 gallon, 1-20-21 = 1.899 Milk 3.29 gallon, 1-20-21 = 1.99 Eggs 3.79 dozen, 1-20-21 = .99 Tuna fish .99 can, 1-20-21 = .69 Chips, 4.09 bag, 1-20-21 = 1.99 Bread 4.29 loaf, 1-20-21 = 1.99 Primers 94/K, 1-20-21 = 32/K My check book says (since I buy pretty much the same thing every time) that a shopping trip costs roughly double what it did 1-20-21! I would kill to have only 9% inflation, let alone 3%! I know some (including on this forum) say current WH occupant can do no wrong and economy is booming and not his fault but facts say different in my area. Lots of factors for sure, I just don’t see pursuing idiotic agendas or inept leadership as helpful. Regards (and hoping savings hold out) Gateway Kid
  23. Would be cool to see. We got an “official” .2 inches yesterday, and .45 inches today. About enough to make a decent footprint! Heaven knows we need it, but compared to what they got last week on the mesa, this is nothing. They got 24 inches over a couple days, bringing their total to 57 inches, so they got some work to do to finish out at over 160 inches like last year. Regards and happy “schussing” Gateway Kid
  24. No doubt! Some women just have “IT” don’t they? makes you glad you are a man! Regards Gateway Kid
