  2. Just curious why you would do it that way (starting on center). Seems to me it would be smoother to shoot 1-2-3-4-5, then 4-3-2-3-4 turning it into essentially a continuous sweep across the entire array. One of my personal struggles is to skip targets to get to another, in this case jumping either 4 or 2 to get to the middle target.
But getting back to your question I would say, absent other instructions starting on the center would be fine, no P.

  3. Way back when I worked in the nuclear weapons industry we would sometimes have matters that involved the Secretary of the Department of Energy. (She at the time) When we had meetings that required an update to her we held the bulk of the meeting then notified her administrative assistant who would call us back in exactly that manner when she was ready. The Secretary of the DOE was a busy person so we always took her call when we got the “please hold for Secretary O’Leary” rather than her waiting for us to reach a point where she had to wait on us. Never had a problem with it.

  4. One quick and dirty check is to cock your unloaded firearm and give gentle pressure forward to the hammer without touching the trigger. If the hammer drops forward then either the lower trigger or the hammer sear is done. Generally a good idea to change both unless you have access to a jig to recut the notches properly. New trigger spring might hide the problem but is not the root cause.

  5. Our governor is a far left weasel from California (whose personal fortune was predominantly made in his family’s oil and gas business, which he says he hates but so far has declined to give up the money), who is determined to convert Colorado into California East. So far he has been successful with the support of his like minded liberal immigrants into the state who are literally outnumbering those who actually love the state as is. Since he had his democrat friends introduce nearly identical legislation last year (that legal experts said would have to be immediately rejected as both over broad and unconstitutional so it died in senate committee) I would fully expect  him to continue the destruction of our rights if given the chance!

  6. This ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

My wife and I own two propertie, one behind the other.... xxx45 and xxx47

We bought xxx47 in 2010 after the previous owner (alcoholic, gambling addict and meth user) was forclosed on.

Only one way in and we didn't want any future neighbors like them again!

Anyway they demolished the house and gutted it, copper piping removed, electrical ripped out, plumbing scavenged to the point it is not habitable.

At least a couple times a week I get mail for them from treatment facilities, Nigerian princes, credit card companies, gamblers anonymous etc.

Used to drop them off at PO with "no longer at this address" in large print every so often, until I started getting the ones I had written on back in the mail box.

Now as I walk past the trash can I just drop them into a different kind of "box"

    Regards

  7. unless this changed dramatically from the second reading it does NOT specifically ban only AR, AK type firearms, it DOES ban ALL semiautomatic firearms, including handguns and shotguns that can accept a detachable magazine of any capacity and include one of the characteristics listed below

    Prelude:

The bill defines the term "assault weapon" and prohibits a person from manufacturing, importing, purchasing, selling, offering to sell, or transferring ownership of an assault weapon. The bill further prohibits a person from possessing a rapid-fire trigger activator. A person in violation of the prohibitions will be assessed a first-time penalty of $250,000 and $500,000 for each subsequent violation.

    Exemptions:

A member of the United States armed forces, a peace officer, or other government officer or agent, to the extent that the person is otherwise authorized to acquire or possess an assault weapon and does so while acting within the scope of the person's duties; The manufacture, sale, or transfer of an assault weapon by a licensed firearms manufacturer to any branch of the United States armed forces, or to an entity that employs peace officers, for use by that entity or its employees; The transfer of an assault weapon to a licensed firearms dealer or gunsmith for the purposes of maintenance, repair, or modification, and the subsequent return of the assault weapon to the lawful owner; Any federal, state, or local historical society, museum, or institutional collection that is open to the public, provided that the assault weapon is securely housed and unloaded; A forensic laboratory, or any authorized agent or employee of the laboratory, for use exclusively in the course and scope of authorized activities; An entity that operates an armored vehicle business and an authorized employee of the entity while in the course and scope of employment; A licensed gun dealer who has remaining inventory of assault weapons as of August 1, 2024, and sells or transfers the remaining inventory only to a non-Colorado resident and the sale or transfer takes place out of state; or A peace officer.

This bill passed to the senate with none, zero, nada republicans voting for it, exclusively on the votes of 35 democrat traitors who clearly are to stupid to read and comprehend either our state or federal constitution. To their credit, 9 democrats (all from rural or agricultural areas) voted against it. Pray for our country.

  8. Admittedly my experience with the Stampede and the Gaucho is limited to one pair of each. The Taurus went back three times, light primer strikes, lots of lead shavings around the forcing cone and on return the second time an obviously loose barrel to receiver fit, on the third time they didn’t send the guns back, just a letter saying they would reimburse the purchase price or send a new pair. Pard took the money.
The Stampedes went back twice, the second time gone for two months. Came back worse than when they went in. (Off center primer strikes, now almost at the edge of the primer, occasionally locked up for no apparent reason)

Last I heard, pard still has them in the back of the safe 7 years later.

Couldn't you just have 2 or 3?  Do I have to go to 6?

If the first one is big enough, you will kind of automatically skip over the intermediate numbers, directly to “six”!

Another possibility is that you will “forget”, 2-3-4-5!

Don’t ask how I know this!

  10. First let me say I really appreciate everyone’s response. I am in conversation with my FFL as to how best to proceed regarding shipping and identification that he needs. Only difficulty is he is currently in Arizona on a family trip and won’t be back until next Wednesday. I will be in touch with each of you to say Thanks and see how I can fulfill my financial obligations to one of you.
    Again thank you

and don't forget the years spent playing violent video games where you yank out your opponents spine or sneak up behind them to shoot them in the back of the head are totally harmless, but let them look at an advertisement to go to a range with dad or granddad, learn how to shoot trap and possibly become a hunter or heaven forbid they develop skills to shoot bullseye in 4 H or similar organizations and clearly they will immediately become a cold blooded murderer with extraordinary sniper skills looking to put their playmates in the dirt!

  12. Looking for a SxS for a nephew, who wants a SxS because that is what his uncle uses.

We got him a pair of Wranglers (he doesn't know about yet) and a Henry youth model 22 last year.

He will be 10 in June, is somewhat short and doesn't weigh much so will also be looking for a second stock to cut down most likely.

Looked at some single shots and "survival" style versions but nothing really interesting.

LGS says they can order but their distributor has been backordered for quite a while so trying other venues.

  13. Don’t know about everywhere as I have only hunted in 4 states (CO, WY, KS, SD) but in KS and WY both were on private land and the warden (professional and polite) came to our camp to check on us. Same in CO, both public and private land have had them stop in and see how things were going. Didn’t see any wardens in the field in SD though did go through a roadside checkpoint on the way home. Never a problem, just figured it was normal.

  14. Here is the guide book for the Montana 4H shooting program that served as the foundation for the Western Heritage program. It was published in 2011 so most likely that was the original group. I stopped my involvement after the 2019 season due to health issues, but the program continued for a while longer.

  15. Was a 4H leader for the Western Heritage program on the west slope for three years. My cousin (Dominguez Red) was the senior instructor. Oak Creek Martin was the senior instructor for the eastern slope Western Heritage program for three or four years as well. Sadly due to the politics of guns the program faded away. Here it is pretty much gone, don’t know on the east side but haven’t heard much for quite a while.
Great program, the kids had fun, very challenging. Some aspects were tougher than CAS (farther targets, no draw from the holster, no pistols (used a second rifle) below a certain age (don’t remember whether it was 10 or 12). I can look and see if I still have my books somewhere if you like.

  16. Don’t know about the 16 gauge version but know a couple parts with Spolar gold 12 gauge. Expensive!

New about $5,000! Have seen used at around $2,400-$2,600. Good luck with your sale, if priced well should sell quickly.

Firearms don't go through NICS people do. Type is listed on 4473 but I don't recall things like make model and serial #. Might could be on the back office part but not on my side of the counter.

Every paper form 4473 In Colorado has a section for “type”, “make”, “S/N” for the retailer to fill out. Electronic version as well. Figured it was a federal form so would be the same everywhere.
Sales people have taken to having at least a couple checks that the “S/N” is correct before closing out the form.
