Had to look up trail carry. Is it this:

John you are most correct!! This is how most deer hunters would carry their Winchester lever actions. In the case I posted the shooter was holding the shotgun by the wrist of the shotgun.

  2. The stage starts shotgun in hand. The shooter is shooting a SxS. He is holding it open but in a "trail" carry has one would do while hunting. is this OK?? As the TO I told him its not and he is breaking the 170. I was told I was wrong and it can be held that way according to the "new" SASS rules!! What say you.

Tom check the thread size, difference between 1st and 3rd gens. FYI, S&S Firearms in New York has 1st gen screw and pin.

Happy New Year!! Hawkeye the one I bought is for a 3rd gen gun. They had them made special. It is a better design then the threads all the way down the screw. The new cylinder pin also accommodates the new type screw. I'll let ya know!!

Take this any way you'd like but...here's a little further info on the immediate future of the NRA.

Long time NRA executive and Head of General Operations, Andrew Arulanandam is slated to become CEO and EVP of the NRA on an interim basis. He was a close associate of LaPierre.

Former NRA board member (running again as an "independent" whatever that is), Phillip Journey stated that LaPierre's resignation doesn't remedy the persistent rot within the NRA. He also stated (exact quote) "Honestly, the grifter is a snake with many heads and this is just one."

I personally will be watching very closely at what emerges from the trial/investigation. I don't believe for a second that LaPierre was the only one involved in the corruption and misappropriation of funds at the NRA. I will withhold any donations, on my part, until such a time that I am satisfied that the ones that committed the acts of fraud, theft and corrupt dealings are no longer a part of the NRA or affiliates.

I'm glad that LaPierre will be gone...I just don't believe that he's the only culprit in this whole debacle. My only wish is for the NRA to once again become the powerhouse for the protection of 2nd Amendment rights for all Americans and for future generations of gun owners to come.

    AMEN!!

  5. Assassin in theory it sounds good; in practice its impossible!! Up until the un-SAFE ACT it was a lifetime license. You paid all fees one time at application, out of NYC. Now it has to be re-newed every 5 years with no cost now!! Who knows in the next 5 year renewal.

  6. No one 21 or older can handle a handgun with out a permit. 14 to 21 can handle while supervised by a permit holding adult, LE or military personel. Long guns can be shot at 12 years old. Handguns can be shot by another permit holder while in the presence of the owner.

Having said that, Dude you insist on putting this stuff out there. I do not know if you are trying to be helpful or just paranoid. Last year you posted some other thing about lever action rifles. Give it a break!! You put stuff out there for the whole world to see. Thanks but no thanks.

  7. Put in the Wolff springs. Just check the lenght cause I had a few long ones that were hitting the frame and not bending. I have them in all my Colts,. My game guns and my pleasure guns. Also their wire bolt/trigger spring. Instant action job from fractory springs!!
