  1. 3-4’ of 350-500 kcmil copper will end a bad dudes day real quick too!
  2. Probably shot my last match in 2012 but still have two pair OMV Bisley 44 magnums. Hogleg Smith bass Asia action job. I think 17# and 30# springs.
  3. As to making a movie, and not needing the money, that might be a nice break from routine and get to have fun with peers.
  4. There was a guy around here that did just that. Farmed for a living. Flew in marijuana on the side. Son was killed in a plane accident involving drugs. Operation ceased. All the money was laundered, as he made it, into real estate and cattle. Relative of mine handled his legal needs. He owned land in every county in Georgia. Timber, crops, cattle, trailer parks. And some land out of state. Leased out several thousand Holstein milk cows to farmers across the south at $1 per day. I know his wife and foreman well. Upon death worth roughly $150,000,000. Left I recollect $30 million to charity. I was there the day the wife found out and she was crying upset where they’d get that kind of money. His two kids got $1 million cash upon his death but also got operation and rights to assets via his multitude of companies and trusts. They all drove 10 year old vehicles lived in modest homes and looked like typical dairy farmers. That was roughly 15 years ago when he died. Land is worth double or more now. I know he bought 4-500 acres on Lake Oconee just before he died . Lake front 3/4 -1 acre lots in developed golf communities go as high as $1 million.
  5. Very neat stuff. I could never do it. Getting out of sight of land is bad enough. Not seeing bottom is worse. Not seeing sunlight, or even moonlight, completely unacceptable.
  6. I have a gp100 in 44 special looked at charter arms but the Ruger was attractively priced
  7. Electric whole house are generally 20-24 kw. 80-100 amps.
  8. I just read a more detailed account. This happened November 27, 2022. These videos were just released and had been delayed due to ransom ware, or perhaps enough time has passed for the outrage in the community to subside?
  9. It was insane. Poor girl had been through enough. Sadly, have to admit, her father could have been the one to shoot her. Ballistics will tell.
  10. I'm not looking, just wondering, Made in Arkansas.
  11. WhiteRiver Large Rifle Primers Made in USA Weekend Sale .11 Each - Republic Ammunition White River Energetics
  12. If it’s sold at home depot or lowes that says a lot: Klein fish tapes are garbage Ideal all the way on fish tapes
  13. Good question. For years you could always buy d2000 series and they lasted longer. Even 25-30 years ago. They wore longer and felt more broken in. The regular ones were more than serviceable though. Not today. I don’t think the 2000 series is as good as once was. This is on cutting pliers and dykes. Klein also had a no bull warranty on screw drivers. That went away 2005 or so.
  14. Going into my 30th year in the trade. I have witnessed a steep decline in Klein quality, but didn’t really realize it til buying a pair of Ideal t-strippers yesterday. The Klein strippers, lineman’s pliers and screwdrivers aren’t what they used to be, for sure.
  15. I shoot a 260. Ballistic twin of the Swede. Love it. I’d shoot anything short of brown bear polar bear with it. I shoot a 270 and up to 150 grain bullets does not give up enough to a 7 mag to make any difference. Nor does a 280 Ackley (also a 7mm). You really need a 24-26” barrel to realize full powder burn in magnums. If you look at published data on magnums it’s often 24-26” barrel used. Standard calibers typically done from 22” barrel. A magnum really doesn’t gain much in a 20-22” barrel over a standard cartridge. It just adds recoil and noise with a marginal gain.
  16. At one time I began working on a parody to this about sippy cups
  17. Purely my opinion….. The advantages in velocity, energy and high B.C. bullets are seldom realized since, even in the open expanses of the west, 95% or better of all shots on game are under 400 yards. Not til past 400 yards does any magnum start to significantly pull away from standard cartridges. Even then, the trajectory, ballistic and energy numbers have little to no bearing on lethality from any well placed shot. Bullet design and impact velocity is another matter, with impacts on bone being a crap shoot with most any caliber (primarily due to failure and deflection). That said, most N.A. hunting can be handled with calibers .243-.308 diameters, in cartridges with case capacities of 35-75 grains volume. It begins to be a point of diminishing returns really past 55 or so grains (grains of weight) in my opinion. Plain, vanilla cartridges utilizing ‘06 Springfield or .308 Winchester cases- sized up or down from .243 to .358- are perfectly adequate. A 300-400 yard shot isn’t difficult to pull off with decent optics, and that’s well under these cartridges range in killing ability.
