Sad news just reached us at the ranch, Travelin Jones, A.K.A. Tim Bartlett has ridden off into the eternal sunset. He was a local shooter in the central Texas area, belonging to several clubs and participating in many different shooting sports, especially pistol and three gun. He will be greatly missed. If anyone is interested I will post arrangements when details become available.

And do not forget that some people have a temper that flares, then when they cool down come back to being regular civilized folks. Remember Captain Call whipping the scout. Let it go, unless the other person brings it up. As said before, water under the bridge.

Over the years I have had several nipple wrenches, mostly from starter kits or came with used revolvers. Nearly all have deformed with use. Any recommendations for a replacement wrench for standard revolvers? I have my ROAs covered because of the way their nipples are made. I need something for the copies which will not break or ruin Thanks,

As a child my great ambition was to play piano in a lounge/bar. My ambitions matured, but my attraction to a good old smelly bar remain, so the pianist/gun fighter Ivery Keys was born. Always enjoy reading how we pick our aliases...

Well, now that half of it is viewed, looks like a half and half mix of history and fiction. Wonder where this masterpiece was filmed? Still beats most of what is on. Before cable I wondered what it would be like to have a hundred channels. Now that I know I still have trouble finding a good western to watch...

Isn't that the same as asking cops to seize drugs and then sell them on the streets to finance drug raids? I'd love to have some ivory grips too, but that's the wrong way about it. I'll stick with preban or elk.
Actually, a better analogy may be cops auctioning off guns confiscated from criminals, then using the money from the auctions for funding...

It is with sad hearts that we report that at 87 years young Granddad McBang (John Crane Sr.) has moved on to the great range in the sky. His death was totally unexpected as he had just driven himself to lunch earlier in the day when he was discovered unconscious in his truck. He was taken to the hospital with low oxygen in his blood, where apparently he suffered a major heart attack which left him unable to be revived even though he was in the hospital at the time. He enjoyed his years as a shooter from 1996 with the Texican Rangers through 2006 with the Tejas Caballeros and still enjoyed watching or picking up brass. Daily Late, Johnny McBang, Wild Jasmine, and I will all miss him dearly. The fellowship of the band has been broken...

I have one of the RWS guns in .22 and love it. Can ring the 100 yard target every time with it...

Since I have a range at my house many people want to shoot my cowboy guns. I normally shoot a Marlin in competition, but have two '73s that I shoot silhouette with and will not short stroke because I want people to have an authentic feel for them. Of course, I also shoot mostly BP under those circumstances...

You can climb the enchanted rock, where Ben McCulloch, I belive it was, fought off several Commanche. The Spoetzl brewery in Shiner is not open on the weekends, but you could go down there and prowl around. There is a RC airplane museum in Schulenburgh. Lots of state parks to go hiking in, pick your community. Bastrop had a devastating fire in their state park two years ago, so not as pretty as it once was unless charred tree stumps is your thing. Bob Bullock museum in Austin, and the capital. Go to Galveston or Houston for the day or a weekend, lots to do there, just hop on IH 10.

We use small rifle shaped pins we got at bulk rates from somewhere, but I can not remember where. Most in our club wear them on their hat...

The going rate around here now in the local shops seems to be in the $5 per 100 range, so that would be $50 a brick of 1000...

I drilled my 100 yard AR 500 straight through with a 55gr. 22-250 round. Nothing else, including full jacketed 30-06 had ever done anything more than dimple them (had to have the light just right to see the dimple). Sighted in the 22-250 then thought I would make the 100 yard target sing, well, I did. For my home range everything is AR 500, even the 1/2 scale silhouettes we shoot cowboy silhouette with. Shooting these targets with lead should allow them to out live all of us...

I received and installed my Uberti globe front and tang rear on my Uberti '73 over the weekend. The '73 has a 30" barrel so that gives me a pretty long sighting plane. Did not get to shoot it yet, but for $150 I was pretty impressed witht the quality of the globe, inserts, and tang sights. I have not heard anything about them here, and I will be using this rifle for Pistol Caliber Cowboy Silhouette, probably not SASS shooting.
