  1. Well like the guy who fell off the Empire State Building. All the way down people heard him say "So far so good " JHC
  2. After the last "update " not long after I got a smart phone about 3 years it was totally FUBAR on my computer and double on my phone. Not on the confuser much at home now days, hopefully it's fixed where I can use it on my phone. We'll see. Trying to post something was a train wreck. Sus amigo JHC

  4. Probably not many left on the wire who knew him, was a regular many moons ago. Saw it on Facebook today. Back in the days of the SASS Conventions in Las Vegas we had lots of good times. Again not many left on the Wire from back then. Good ridin' pard. See ya on the other side. JHC
  5. Mid 80's here today. God bless Texas! I hate the cold. I expect it will be back this year. Couple months ago it dropped from 65 to 18 one afternoon! JHC
  6. I have 2, 1 is my every day carry pistol. They are better than they used to be but they still have a wonky trigger. The little 9 I carry is extremely accurate and I have confidence in it. First time I fired it I was worried that I couldn't see any bullet holes. Walked down to the target and there was this nifty little group in the middle of the bull. It was like Hey, I like this little guy! JHC
  7. We kinda sidetracked the thread. Is it me or is Mel Gibson looking a lot like Sean Connery? JHC
  8. Used to work with a guy like that once. Big gun nut. He'd buy a pistol and if it didn't put them down the middle it was no good and he'd sell it. I shot with him enough to know he just wasn't worth beans as a pistol shot. He couldn't shoot worth crap with my pistols either! JHC
  9. I have one. Great shooter, my wife's favorite gun. She's not really a shooter but she shoots it quite well. We both have small hands but have no trouble with the Beretta. She used on her CHL qualifier. I think she scored like 435/500. I don't recall it has EVER jammed. My wife's target. Texas course is 50 rounds from like 5-25 yards. JHC
  10. Sometime you the windshield sometimes you the bug. Dire Straits. JHC
  11. Great article. I did not know she saw that much service in WWII. JHC
  12. Must be on FB. One of those Top 10 Happiest Cities for some such and you have to go thru 60 pages to get to #1. And then it's probably fulla crap. JHC
  13. Somebody must be buying them. There are 3 dealerships within 15 miles of my small town and they have a crapload of them on the lots. At least dozens, maybe 100. Lots of money sitting there, and they've been in business for some years even thru the last few bad years. My 2 cents, JHC
  14. It's been many moons ago, but I used to work backstage at a charity telethon where we had BIG stars at the time. Me and a buddy ate breakfast at 2AM across the table from Bill and Susan Hays (Doug and Julie from Days of our Lives) big stars back then, nicest people you'd ever care to meet. Spent a good deal of time shooting the $h!t with Slim Pickens back stage. He was a hoot. He was the same back stage telling dirty jokes and telling about his horses. Rex Allen and Rex Jr, Mel Tillis, Jimmy Dean, several cast members from Lawrence Welk show, Tanya Tucker, quite a few. Most of them were nice folks, at least in my limited time around them. Long ago in a galaxy far away. JHC
  15. I've done a little looking, and I gather Doolittle was a Lt. Col. at the time. Tibbets was listed as promoted to colonel before the atomic attack, but it doesn't say if he was a full bird. I guess it doesn't matter a heckufalot, just curious. JHC
  16. I am a HUGE Hogan's Heroes fan. Watched one just now, Question is, did bird colonels actually fly bombers in WWII? Maybe things were different then, and I'm not extremely knowledgeable on the military being a career civilian, but I gather for some time now a bird colonel is not one involved in actual combat. I know a lot of you veterans can enlighten me. JHC
  17. We were gonna get rid of ours a while back. Most of our bill is internet service and the crapload of fees . If we dropped the landline the other stuff was going to go up, and it would only save us like $4 a month, so it was like bag it, might as well keep it for the difference. JHC
  18. My first SASS rifle (before I knew you needed 10 rounds in the mag) is a 94 Trapper .45 Colt pre-safeties. Shot it for a good while and moved up to a '73. I still have it. Great camp rifle. It sits in my truck beside me on Sundays. I'm a (trained) church guardian an usually watch the gates and parking lot. I figure it's better than a pistol out to 50 yards And less chance of over penetration if Heaven forbid I have to shoot toward the church. JHC
  19. Sign is hard to read but it's Brackett's Toll Road between Skagway and White Horse Yukon (Canada) JHC
  20. Interesting. HEB supermarkets here have their own brand in both kinds. For some reason the short fat ones are significantly cheaper so I buy those! Can't tell any difference taste wise. JHC
