  1. I had my blackeyed peas with chopped onion and diced country ham cooked in a skillet with butter and honey!!

You fry up the ham first with a little water and honey, then sautee the onions in the same skillet adding some butter while you dice the ham. Then you add bunch of blackeyed peas and the ham back into the skillet and heat it 'til it's nice 'n' bubbly!!

I'm gonna give this a whirl this week, sounds tasty.

  2. Did everybody eat their black eyed peas, greens and cornbread today?

Nope, we are having corned beef and cabbage with potatoes. It is our New Year's tradition.

Oh Man, I used to cook up a big pot of corned beef and cabbage, along with some killer black eyed peas.....had an open door policy from 4 to 8 for people. Missed that meal.....might have to go to the butcher for some corned beef this week.

But today it was chicken soup, and hot black tea with Jameson, honey, cinnamon stick, and lemon......trying to kick a cold.

  3.

Last year I damaged both shoulders & could not shoot duelist.

    So....I shot 2-handed.

    Felt really strange.

It was either shoot 2-handed, or not shoot at all.

So..........I shot my cap guns holding on to them with both hands.

Had just enough strength in my injured shoulders to get through a stage.

Much satisfaction, though, in still being able to shoot my cap guns..

Still lotsa weakness in the shoulders.

When I shoot Josey Wales, I shoot my pistol pistols and shotgun pistol duelist, but don't have the strength to shoot my rifle pistols duelist

Strength is coming back slowly, but I do what I hafta do to keep on shooting

Phew.....was scared for a second that you went smokeless.........

Hope you get back in tip top shape!

  4. It has come to my attention that there are folks out there that are loading Shotshell with less than 3 grains more blackpowder than I use in .45 Colt ....

I've been thinking of using 3" shells for my SxS just so I can get more powder in...........

  5. I may go back to smokeless. Sportsmans Warehouse is out of BlackMZ.

Oh man, why even get out of bed?

For a nice BP substitute, I recommend APP. I use in my 25.20, and on occasion cap & ball gunz.

Easy loading, easy cleanup. Capt Baylor always posts sales information when he gets it, here in the forum.

  6. What do you recommend I get to make the 1861 Navy sing?

    I've got a brace of Uberti 1860's, and followed these instructions, even though they're for Pietta, Larsen Pettifogger wrote them up about eight years ago;

There's also the video Bottom Dealing Mike has on his YouTube page discussing smoothing out the hammer to prevent 'cap sucking'......easy alternative to 'cap posts' or other modifications such as what Long Hunter Shooting Supply is offering.

  7. What? That's almost unAmerican. Go get and watch it.

Are you still sitting there? Go get it NOW!!!

Hey Robert Mitchum is in El Dorado!!!!

You shoulda told me Forty Rod!

  8. +1 for Northern tool. However they wouldn't hold air for more than a couple weeks. Put Green Slime in 'em and that clogged the valves making re-filling impossible. Discovered the valve was the source of the leak even with a new stem insert. Resolved by using metal caps with a small "O" ring inside---haven't added air in over a year. I got the 16" ones and they roll nice over bumpy terrain.

This is my problem, where did you source your metal caps with the O rings?
