  1. I'm on a MacBook Air, so I 'click' on the photo, then 'two finger click' on my track pad, and choose 'save image as'. If not using a Mac, steps could be the same. 'two finger click' would be a right click if using a mouse.
  2. JB, you better go check you SKB right now!! Just discussing using Pyrodex with any mentioned firearms will cause corrosion! Before I dabble with BP Subs, I did alot of reading about Pyrodex, and nothing good. I have seen photos of ruined Rugers that used Pyrodex. And how fouling finds it's way into the action of shotguns, or any firearm, I can only say to stay away. You can ask Smilin' Pete how Pyrodex ruined the actions on his firearms, and how he had to get them rebuilt.
  3. Wore my CC '87 out in about 12 years. Bought in '08 Rebuilt in '11 finally junked it in '19.
  4. I hope to participate next year!!
  5. @Randy Saint Eagle, SASS # 64903 do you think there might be interest for a black powder posse for this match?
  6. Train wreck award is a cool idea, something different. Oddball awards like this should make a comeback. Buzzard Boil in CT does an award for 'Clean with a P'.
  7. What an awesome blankity blank match!! Been hearing about this match, and how its a must attend since I joined SASS back in ‘06!
  8. you can use lead boolits that are made for smokeless, as well as coated boolits, so no need for black powder boolits. easy cleanup using cleaning cloths like Crocodile Wipes, Wet Ones, Body Wipes ... etc. you can use regular gun oil without worrying about petroleum based products making funky gunky sludge.
  9. Or, just come to the Darkside 😈 ..... we have cookies.
  10. I use 1 pound.
  11. This has happened to me a few times. I use a Thumblers Tumbler with the rubber liner, and I was thinking it was the rubber liner slowly rotting away or something. I have since switched up my routine. I tumble for 90 minutes with a cap full of Scrubbing Bubbles, and a palm of Lemi-Shine, dump the water and rinse, refill, and for another 90 minutes I use a cap full of car wash soap with wax, and another palm of Lemi-Shine, and I haven't gotten a dull tumble in a few years now. I tumble brass that have both tasted smokeless, and real black, all at once.
  12. @Randy Saint Eagle, SASS # 64903 what is the cutoff number for shooters? I mailed my app last Thursday from NJ, so hopefully it will arrive today or tomorrow.
  13. Thinking of a pair in 45 colt, not sure when my wallet it allow it though.
  14. Sent my app in this morning. Been wanting to attend this match for years ... looking forward to it.
  15. I just discovered this last weekend. Very little recoil, accurate with my 457 roundball .... less powder consumption, and less fouling to clean up afterwards .... real home run!!
  16. @Slick McClade Where do we go to order a pair of these?
  17. @Prairie Dawg, SASS #50329 do you mean a brass brush to use inside the cylinders? Or on the part of the nipple the cap goes on?
  18. @Choctaw Kid Tulsa Nipple pick being anything long enough, and slim enough to go through the flash hole. Sewing needle, safety pin, paperclip, steel wire of some kind, or a dental pick .....

  20. Is the cartridge stop part of the loading gate damaged in anyway?
  21. Well, make sure Schwaby stays the heck away from Pyrodex.....he can ask Smilin' Pete about what Pyrodex did to his guns! That being said, as far as I have seen, I have never come across anybody with special mod's to their gun car to accommodate a jug for brass. Besides making sure the cap is tight and doesn't leak, I have simply seen people just place it their carts with the rest of their shooting supplies. As for me, I just wait till I get home to deal with it all.
  22. I used all kinds of stuff, cheap cooking oils (but using Olive Oil gave me a hankerin' for fresh tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil), fresh bacon fat, Crisco and beeswax. When I had original Winchester rifles, I used Ballistol in the barrel and lifter area, and white lithium grease on the toggles and such. With my cap and ball guns, I used either cooking oil lubed wads, or tallow/beeswax blend smeared across the cylinder face. For cleaning I use industrial cleaning wipes from Home Depot (also handy around the kitchen), afterwards I wiped the barrels out with Qmaxx Black Diamond, Gunzilla or Eezox. Same goes for rifle and shotgun. Guts of all my guns are lubed with white lithium grease.
  23. @Rooster Ron Wayne try this, just a pdf upload from the link StockRefinishing.pdf
