  1. For me, when I load full house with APP, the powder goes to just about the bottleneck, and the 200g boolit goes on top. Still not enough smoke for me though.
  2. I have Miroku, I got it 2nd hand a few years back. Already had an action job, can't recall who I was told that did it, it always felt 'clunky' to me. Last year I had some extra foldin' money, and purchased Shotgun Boogie's spring kit and firing pin kit. Runs real smooth. I can't get a shave that smooth either unfortunately.
  3. Reachout to Shotgun Boogie, I got a few from him when mine broke a few years back. Not listed on his website, still reach out. Ya never know. https://sbgwllc.com/
  4. From what I understand, it was made for black powder loads, and with the advent of smokeless, people where blowing them up. A recall happened, and the new improved 1897 was introduced to withstand smokeless loads.
  5. Joe Perkins used to make Hand of God grips, was this him? https://classicsingleaction.com/contact/
  6. I have found that when the shell opens up, the crimp is the issue. Shell just opens up and hangs there. Even when the brass base has cleared the chamber/extractor, and it hangs in the chamber, the crimp area holds onto the chamber walls. Sometimes I think the shell checkers/resizers should be like those little pencil sharpeners you kept at your desk in grade school. Just shave the excess off instead of trying to resize.
  7. Only shot here once, back in '11. Still one of my favorite matches.
  8. This is true. It's just down the street, stop on the way to get groceries. đŸ˜‰
  9. Putting this match on my radar!!
  10. If it is broken, reach out to Lassiter. He's aka Tom's Single Action Shop in New Lebanon OH.
  11. https://bulletsbyscarlett.com/
  12. Careful, Pyrodex will corrode your guns just talking about it!!
  13. Bring plenty of ammo, and then some more. Clean guns, function test, bring backups, extra parts, tools, and cleaning kit. After last years fiasco, thankfully only happened during warm up stages, I double check the crimp on every single rifle round. I was having chamber feeding issues due to poor crimps.
  14. I found my pouch of secret herbs and spices at the bottom of my shooting bag after the match Sunday. If I known it was there, I could loaded up my cap guns with it!! Que sera sera.....till next year.
  15. Wasn't there a camera setup in one of the bays? I thought I spotted one up on a tree for either stages 3/4, or 7/8? If there was a working camera, hopefully it was on the stages where I used my special shotgun shells.
  16. @Cholla do you have a website or anything for hatbands?
  17. Yup, great match, lots of fun.....even when getting whooped by allergies.
  18. @Cowtown Scout, SASS #53540 L looking forward to reading about your travels and exploits in the PNW, that is one area i hope to travel to for some matches one day.
  19. I did this as well. I bought mine 2nd hand back in '18, was already slicked up, don't recall who did it, but it was kinda 'clunky'. I had extra folding money on month, so I got the Shotgun Boogie drop in kit .... so much better now.
  20. Thinking of a pair in 45 colt, not sure when my wallet it allow it though.
  21. Popcorn and Wimmin's Pro Wrestling!
  22. @Cowtown Scout, SASS #53540 L i might see you again at PA State next year if that match is on your radar.
