Lost another great cowboy, Dirt Slider
Cemetery replied to John Barleycorn, SASS #76982's topic in SASS Wire
This is a real bummer. He was always a real pleasure to shoot with, and laugh with. Had a good giggle with him a few months back about how ghosts decided to live in our guns and cause us to miss. -
Who installs octagon barrels on Ruger Vaqueros?
Cemetery replied to The Revenuer's topic in SASS Wire
Are you still able to use these as percussion? Also, any leading issues with these new barrels and conversions? -
Talk me out of buying a Buntline special
Cemetery replied to Dick Pinkerton SASS# 87592's topic in SASS Wire
Uneven weight distribution, which can cause back pain, and damage the spin when buying a Buntline. You need to buy two!! One for each side. -
Found it youtube, gonna watch it this week! 6 Bullets to Hell would make a great name for a match!

When does a joke become a Dad joke? When it becomes apparent!

I have a Winchester 1892 Carbine in 25.20. Barrel is absolute trash. A number of years back, I priced out a new barrel, and to get it installed and ready to roll was like $600, to get it relined was around the same price. Didn't do either as the action is not reliable. As in not properly feeding, or kicking out live rounds, all at random times.

BP fouling will find nooks and crannies in a 1911 that you never came across before!

Used to do this regularly with Barley Pop Bill years back, even went to some regular action pistol matches with BP loads .... they never knew what hit 'em ... LoL!

I've started using plaques as hot pads/hot plates/trivets now at the dinner table.

The Last Stand 2026 - Scores are Posted
Cemetery replied to Santa Fe River Stan,36999L's topic in SASS Wire
What a great time! Perfect match to start off the 2026 season after not shooting since last October! -
Far left for me as well.

Hot Damn Scarlett!! We have another one!

I tried this years back. With GOEX ... 5 grains 4f, 20 grains 2f or 10 grains 4f and 15 grains 2f in my Old Army's with a .457 RB and didn't notice anything different. No fouling change, or recoil change.

Since I don't have a loading stand mounted on my cart, I either do it at the unloading table, while manning it, or taking up a corner if possible. Otherwise I find an neighboring bay that is empty and use a table there, or finding a sturdy table or bench I can use. I always mind my muzzles, and handle them using the barrels. 15 years doing that way.

First match was in June 2006, joined in July.

Black Powder shotshells: 2 3/4" in a 3" chamber.
Cemetery replied to "Big Boston"'s topic in SASS Wire
I make my own loob with tallow and cooking oil of some type, and put a dab of it on the cushion section of the wad. This helps with the fouling for easier removal. -
Anyplace online to look into this?

Congrats to all!

I got a bag of 500 Barnstormers from him this past Spring. Gonna need another bag of 500.

For me, when I load full house with APP, the powder goes to just about the bottleneck, and the 200g boolit goes on top. Still not enough smoke for me though.

I have Miroku, I got it 2nd hand a few years back. Already had an action job, can't recall who I was told that did it, it always felt 'clunky' to me. Last year I had some extra foldin' money, and purchased Shotgun Boogie's spring kit and firing pin kit. Runs real smooth. I can't get a shave that smooth either unfortunately.
