  1. The family next door to me moved here from New Jersey when the husband and wife graduated college, so at least 20 years ago. The east coast accent is gone but speech patterns are still east coast ie; harder sounding consonants and vowels. I learned French here in the U.S. and when in France, no one there can hear a regional accent, which in many countries can identify the speaker's birthplace. Other folks I know have never lost their accent, although in many cases the accent has softened.
  2. I have figured it out. You build beautiful carts (among other things), take them to the mall and women come from all over to see them. Sly fox. Might be your best work yet.
  3. Spoke with Starline today as the charge that was placed on my credit card last week was removed for 44-40 brass I ordered. Apparently being charged does not mean the order is accepted, it being subject to the supply on hand. Luckily that order was a "just in case".
  4. Ordered a bit more. Can't have enough. Thanks for the heads up, Shootist.
  5. From an article in the Daily Mail entitled "A girl's night out in Jerusalem."
  6. My old boss was a scout sniper in WWII and Lou passed away several years ago. I saw his picture in an American Rifleman magazine a few years ago when they printed a letter and photo sent in by a reader regarding his dad's time on Okinawa. I knew it was Lou because the father and Lou were both listed as hailing from Northern NJ, which was Lou's long time family home. Lou went on to become a senior officer in a major NYC bank. We had an office in the 30 Rockefeller Center building. There were four of us in the office who were vets, and Lou was the only WWII vet. He was a hell of a guy.
  7. I watched Last of the Mohicans (1920) silent on Amazon. Wallace Beery cast as Magua. Pretty interesting film. Selected for the National Film Registry in 1995. I don't know how to add it here.
  8. "Slow motion" traffic, by people, horse drawn wagons and autos. Still crazy driving there, but a lot faster now.
  9. Gene Autry took care of a lot of his expenses later in life.
  10. At around 3:52 minutes notice the short barrel '73, and a better view at 24:25.
  11. Saab also sold a high performance auto named Viggen (Thunderbolt). As part of the purchase Saab had arranged for a 1 or 2 day training course at a track somewhere down south, as I recall. A very fast car, maybe too fast for most, but I couldn't resist it.
  12. Sad to report that John Boy AKA: John Corney, passed away on October 10th. A long time CAS shooter, John was a font of information on black powder firearms, including manufacture of black powder cartridges. I had the pleasure of shooting with him at the Jackson Hole Gang and Monmouth Rangers clubs when I lived in NJ. RIP, pard.
