  1. His laser died and last time I checked he had not gotten it repaired Randy
  2. Pictures please to rws2700@comcast.net Thanks Randy
  3. Widder, Taz will be at the Tennessee State Match again this year. Randy
  4. Taylors has these. http://www.taylorsfirearms.com/long-guns/cartridge-rifles/1873-lever-action/ladies-youth-carbine.html Randy
  5. I've reloaded since the early 90's when I started shooting Bullseye pistol. At that time for the price of a case of match grade .45acp (for 50 yards slow fire cheap ammo wouldn't cut it) I bought used equipment and components to load 1000 rounds so essentially the equipment was free after the first 1000 rounds. As others have said I read the reloading manuals, talked to other folks I trusted that reloaded and was very cautious. When folks ask me how much money I save by reloading I tell them none, I just shoot a whole lot more than I would if I was buying factory ammo. Good Luck Randy
  6. As Mongo stated we have no income tax and I think this is a big plus. Like Imis I also live in Murfreesboro. We are pretty close to lots of SASS clubs however we are pretty much flat landers. Like Tennessee Tombstone said in East Tennessee we have the Smokey Mountains (maybe just hills to you). My home club is the Wartrace Regulators. http://www.wartraceregulators.com/default.aspx Also within driving distance is the Ocoee Rangers http://ocoeerangers.com/ Oak Ridge Outlaws http://oakridgeoutlaws.org/ Tennessee Mountain Marauders http://www.themarauder.com/ North Alabama Regulators http://www.northalabamaregulators.com/ and in Kentucky we're not to far from Green River Gunslingers http://greenrivergunslingers.com/ and The Southeast Regional will be in Memphis starting this year. http://www.memphisgunslingers.com/ I've been pretty lazy about updating my blog lately but if you look through the archives you can find pictures of many of the clubs mentioned. http://wartracecowboys.blogspot.com/ If you get a chance come on to Tennessee and check us out, several shooters have and stayed Randy
  7. Larsen, I found out years ago that I shoot much better when sweating than I do when shivering. Randy
  8. I only use Federal Magnums Randy
  9. Thanks, Blue Wolf and Hank that should help to explain what needs to be done. Randy
  10. Stud, thanks, I'm sure anything will be welcomed and appreciated. Just saw a weather forecast, doesn't look like we'll be shooting next Saturday. Happy New Year Randy
  11. Like Widder I haven't noticed any problems in my .38 Clays loads since I bumped up my powder charge and went to magnum primer. Widder I missed you today, we managed to shoot 1 stage in a light snowfall, I know you hate you missed it Randy
  12. They will definitely bow with enough shots on them without flipping them. Randy
  13. Hank, I think you'll get the best results if you flip them every match or so. Happy New Year to all. Randy
  14. Lobo, I had a motor go out on a Frankfort, went to an RCBS and the motor mounting holes broke out. Now I put them together and have a Frankenstien tumbler. May try a Thumblers when this breaks. Randy
  15. I have always told the Post Office if I was shipping a rifle or shotgun (non FFL can't ship a handgun through the PO) and usually get told I can't do do that and I politely tell them I can and to check their regulations. Be prepared for the counter person not to know. So far all have either checked or asked the Postmaster and I haven't had any real problem Randy
  16. My local dealer has a great selection of powder now as well, just no Federal small pistol primers. Randy
  17. Like many others I started with a Stoeger, then I went to a TTN just because I thought it looked more Cowboy, I shot it until the weight started hurting my elbow to much. I then went back to a Stoeger before getting my first SKB, like many others I have two and never looked back. It would be really hard to have to go back to a Stoeger now. Merry Christmas Randy
  18. Tyrel, no one would hold the rope to keep your target from falling, we'd just tie it Randy
  19. Make sure she handles an 1878 before you buy one for her, they are very heavy. I shot one for years and really like it but it started making my elbow hurt due to the weight. I went backto a Stoeger for a while and then made the mistake of buying an SKB. Now I have 2 SKB's and doubt if I could ever go back to anything else. 3/4 oz loads will knock down anything we shoot if you hit it. Randy
  20. Go to a match in your area talk to folks most will let you try out their guns and see what yo like before you start buying. Welcome to the most fun you can have with your clothes on. Randy
  21. Come on out and enjoy the fun, who's the vendor? Come on out to a monthly match sometime, you don't have to wait till the State Match. Randy
  22. You'll need some pink ones before October for Breast Cancer month. Randy
  23. I would like to shoot the Regional sometimes and see the museum but it never seems to work out. Randy
