  1. I didn’t bother to pattern mine after it took down our SG targets and hit the Clay bird.🤠 Randy
  2. The TTN in the safe has hammers. Randy
  3. Check around with people in your local club, I have an extra single stage press I could setup and loan someone to start with as well as show them how to reload. There is probably someone in your local club that does as well. Randy
  4. After shooting this one I was going to go back and get another but both LGS are sold out. Randy
  5. I may use something else for practice if I have to but I'll use Federals for matches as long as I can get them, regardless of price. Randy
  6. That's about how long it took us to get to Land Run! Y'all have a Merry Christmas!! Randy
  7. Wartrace Regulators will be shooting this Saturday! It should be sunny and warm. But instead it’s supposed to be sunny and chilly so dress accordingly. Forecast is for sunny and 51 so it should be in the 40’s while we are shooting. Registration starts at 8:30, Safety Meeting at 9:30, shooting shortly thereafter. $15 members and $20 non-members. We will be shooting stages 1-5. Here’s the email from Whiskey Hayes! Cowgirls and Cowboys Wartrace is shooting this Saturday Dec. 7th. Going to be nice and sunny but a little cool. Perfect weather for Cowboy attire. Be careful riding Ole Dollar Saturday morning, he will be a little frisky. Whiskey
  8. I could cut the barrels but anything under 20” feels awkward to me. I looked at the triggers and I’m not sure I could swap them? Randy
  9. I don’t think you can beat the SKB’s made in the 70’s to early 80’s but they are getting harder to find. They will then need to go to a good SKB, Cowboy gunsmith. I personally didn’t like the feel of the Browning BSS. Randy
  10. I was pulling the back trigger first to shoot the left barrel, modified choke then the front trigger for the right barrel, improved cylinder. If I had a choke reamer I’d probably open them both up to cylinder bore. Randy
  11. I went ahead and bought one of the new synthetic stock Stoeger coach guns because they were so cheap. I got it at a LGS for $275 out the door. I replaced the top lever spring, lightly polished the paint off the moving parts, disabled the automatic safety and lightly funneled the chambers. I wanted to make sure it didn’t open when I fired factory 1 1/8oz shells. I fired 35 various shells, reloads and factory and it never opened on its on. It would make a good starter shotgun like it is. I’ve shot a single trigger SKB so long that I’m very fumbly with this but it shoots ok. Randy IMG_4025.mov
  12. The only ones I’ve used that are actually brass are Remington STS and Winchester AA. Randy
  13. Tennessee State Championship in Wartrace Tennessee, about an hour east of Nashville. June 5-7, 2025 and as mentioned before, the final leg of the Magnificent 7. Randy https://www.wartraceregulators.com/StateMatch.aspx
  14. It’s been several years since I did one but I disabled the automatic safety similar to what you said. For the lever spring I used a spring the same length with a smaller diameter Wire and it worked fine. I found it going through assorted spring stock. Randy
  15. I apologize that my reply caused your thread to be totally hijacked! It was intended to show that you could buy a new base Stoeger probably about as cheap as the repairs. Sorry Randy
  16. I don’t know but I expect the wording is exactly what they wanted. Randy
  17. I test fired mine today and it worked ok so now I’ll disable the automatic safety, cone the chambers slightly and lighten the opening lever spring. It actually seems to shuck STS and AA hulls ok now. Randy
  18. I originally thought the same thing and I think that was the case when I started. Here’s a reply from PaleWolf on another thread asking about it. This was the second time PaleWolf replied on this thread. Thanks Randy PaleWolf Brunelle, #2495L RO Committee 14.2k Gender:Male SASS# 2495-P OOWSS, Umpqua Regulators, Siuslaw River Rangers, RUCAS, Jefferson State Regulators, Klamath Cowboys, Wolverton Mt. Peacekeepers, Molalla River Rangers Posted November 10 (edited) One more time: Current (2024) SHB reference: " Grips or stocks of simulated or natural materials are acceptable provided they are not customized to constitute a “target” grip or stock. That is, they must be of the same basic shape as grips or stocks found on original firearms." SHB p.34 "Stocks" were added to that allowance in 2009. The ROC specifically addressed and approved them in regard to Stoeger (Boito) nickel-plated shotguns in 2007. Also: "Replacement parts may be made from materials other than the original unless such material is specifically prohibited." SHB p.32 Edited November 10 by PaleWolf Brunelle, #2495L
  19. I just got one from a local Academy Sports for $275 OTD. Randy
  20. I am a TG and I posted this hoping to get a response and possible alternative names from the Ladies that shoot in this category or are eligible now or soon to be in this category. The procedure then would be to discuss it with SASS and at a TG meeting. Then if it a replacement name was offered SASS would send it to the TG’s to put it before their clubs and then vote on it. Obviously that isn’t going to happen because I don’t see any lady wanting to comment on this thread now! Moderators pleas lock this thread! Thank You Randy
  21. That’s why I posted it here. Randy
  22. I bought an SKB with a shortened stock and used these spacers https://www.brownells.com/gun-parts/rifle-parts/rifle-stocks-parts/rifle-stock-spacer/ and this recoil pad to build it back out to the length I wanted. https://www.brownells.com/gun-parts/recoil-pads-reducers/d752-decelerator-recoil-pad/ You can sand them down to fit with a belt sander. Randy
  23. I use the Dillon powder check die and the buzzer doesn’t work so I just look at the pointer. Randy
  24. We have some lady shooters that can't stand the name Grand Dame for 70+ ladies. I know of one lady who refuses to move up from Lady Silver Senior. I posted this on the TG Wire and got this reply from PaleWolf so it looks like this was discussed back in 2017. A name change was suggested back in 2017. As far as I know, no further action was taken. WR TG MEETING - 2017 Is anyone else hearing any complaints about the name? If so any suggestions on a better name? Thanks Randy
