  1. Johnny, if you don't mind sharing I'd love to have the info on how to properly fit a long gun. I see ladies all the time struggling with guns that are too long for them.

    Thanks

    Randy

  2. Hey Randy. Rootin Tootin here. I saw your post about a lever lock to help prevent jacking a live round. I'm planning on getting one but want to know with it installed how do you show clear at the unloading table with the lock installed without pulling the trigger? The only way I can see to do it is to pull the trigger and gradually lower the hammer and cycle it then.

    Thanks.  RT

Hope so too, it is a little harder to put the rifle back together but not bad. I install the right links, right side plate then roll it over and drop in the lever lock and left side links. I have a short punch approximately the same diameter at the side plate screw  I stick through the hole in the right side plate and through the lever lock. Then I install the left side plate and push the punch through the hole, now I can put the screw on the end of the punch and push the punch back out to help me keep the screw aligned.  I hope that made sense? It is actually pretty easy once I got used to it.

If it doesn't make sense I can make a video and send it.

To show clear at the ULT I have to close the lever, pull the trigger and open the lever again, then roll it over as usual to show the follower. You could pull the trigger as you ease the hammer down with your thumb if you wanted to but I just pull the trigger and let the hammer fall. The only time it is an issue is if after loading you lever a round into the chamber and then need to lower the hammer for some reason, you just have to be very careful. It has saved me from jacking out several rounds as I was pretty bad about it.

They are also on the last post of the Tennessee State Championship thread, I just quoted Sedalia Dave to get them there.

       Thanks

  8. Looks like the two of us are trying to get things fixed for 2021. I see you have had a hip replacement and I had a knee replacement. Mine was on Oct 2.

Hope you are doing well with your recovery and hope to see ya when the smoke clears.

Thanks mine was Sept. 24th.  I'm hoping to be able to make it to the last EOT at Founders Ranch. I'm hoping they'll let me drive in a couple of weeks, everything seems to be going pretty well. Hope your recovery is going well.

Good luck and hope to see you shooting next year!

I don't have any experience with these but the price didn't seem bad for what you would get. Hope you find everything you need and enjoy the addiction.

      Merry Christmas.

  10. Randy, Sorry for not appearing overjoyed when my number was called out for winning the Ruger Vaquero Saturday night but I was not sure if I heard the correct number from the back of the room. Therefore, I came forwarded wanting to first verify the number before  jumping for joy.

I understand it would be bad to be all excited and then found out it wasn't your number. Thanks for coming to shoot with us, congratulations on winning the Ruger and I hope you come back next year.

I have a 24" checkered stock .38/357, when I bought it I was told it was set up for 1.41 oal. I shot it till I changed from B-Western to Duelist and decided I wanted to try a '73. I know it sounds crazy but I'd have to have $1200 plus shipping and insurance for it.

      Thanks

      Randy
