length 4 5/8 Stainless steel, Satin Finish, 357. I bought this pistol a couple of years ago with the intention of shooting adjustable sites, but never purchased the second pistol.
Instead went to octagon barrels on my vaquero's.
It has never been fired except for the factory. It has a Cowboy Carty hammer and trigger springs, Gun fighter grip, and Super Blackhawk hammer, already installed
. Original parts included along with book, lock, and box.

As I understand it, JM Marlin's are scribed with the last 3 of the serial number on the bottom of the bolt. Also, there are gunsmiths that scribe their initials or sign the bolt to identify their work. That's all I know.....I asked the same question some time ago.......Hope this helps...............RT

JM Marlin. This rifle is stock except it has had the internals smoothed out and a lightened lever spring added. No dings, or dents. Light use.

Thanks to all. I think I have it now. Widder, easier to get the correct OAL than for me to TIG weld...Thanks for info. Looks like 1.50 is going to work. I'll get some built next week and try them..

I have a stock 1894 Cowboy Limited in 357/38. I use a 130 grain bullet TCFT. In your experience what is the best OAL to minimize jamming when levering fast in our game.........
I once owned a Carty Marlin but it was limited to 38's with a OAL of 1.42.........What is the best for a stock gun????

On the underside of the bolt there are numbers scratched in with a letter T at the end. Any idea who the smith was and what he might have done to it. Last three of serial number is 297

Ok Ron, I got 13 (1.44 OAL) in it but it jammed when I tried cycling. Safe bet is 11 for sure.........RT

Hey Rick, starting to work with her on dry practice but she vasalates between wanting to and not. Right now she is willing to practice once in awhile with me. This is the second time I've tried. We will see. She checks when I sell something to be sure it wasn't her gun... Starting to show some ownership desire..... . RT
