  1. Well, all I can say is: 'Live long and prosper...pilgrim' ..........Widder
  2. "2161"....... ? Are we talking about 'Star Trek' of the future? ..........Widder
  3. Thanks for posting those GREAT pictures. Beautiful landscape. Merry Christmas to you also, UB. ..........Widder
  4. Howdy CC. Here's the story as it pertains to the Widdermajik and Adirondack Jack's C45S cartridge, including the Barnstormer bullets. When I modified the Marlin 1894 to run the C45S cartridge WITHOUT it being a short stroked system, I called AJ on the phone and informed him of my mod..... A non-short stroke Marlin running the C45S with perfect success. I then told him that I could switch carriers and run .45 Colt as desired. AJ said basically..."boy, it would be nice if you could flip a switch somehow and make it run both the Colt and C45S without changing carriers. I said......"give me a couple days and I'll call you back. I think I can do it". About 2 days later, I called AJ back and said the NEW mod will be called the Widdermajik, and I would spell 'WiddermAJik' using his initials in the name. I told him how to set it up and he proceeded to build his own WiddermAJik and make a video of such. The success was made by building a 'timing curve' (or dwell) in the timing ramp on the carrier. And the rest is history. The Widdermajik will run everything from an empty C45S piece of brass all the up to a 300 grain 45 Colt round interchangeably. Just shove whatever ammo ya want in the loading gate for 10 various rounds and fire away. Thanks CC for bringing it up. In reality, I've probably only set up about 6-8 of these rifles and I've helped SLATER (Slaters In-House-Guns) set one up this past summer. EDIT: the standard calibers like .32, .38. 44 and 45, are called 'Widdermatic'. The Duel cartridge of C45S and .45 Colt are called 'Widdermajik'. ..........Widder
  5. May the Wire Pards forgive me for asking a question about a "Ghost Picture" of the 'Ghost Reservoir'. ..........Widder
  6. Are we suppose to take the word of a feller that probably don't believe in Santa? I think not! ..........Widder
  7. Something don't look right in that picture. The support tower on the right doesn't line up with the support in the water. Check out the shadow of each support tower......... something just ain't right about that pic. ..........Widder
  8. Pards, if Ellie dressed up like a cute little Elf and sat on your lap like you were Santa.....and she flashed that cute little smile at you, Y'all would go into A-fib and start promising her everything she wanted for Christmas. Your "Ho-Ho-Ho" would sound more like..."Don't go, Don't go, Don't go". ..........Widder. (Walkin in a Widder Wonderland)
  9. 1. Ruger Super Blackhawk 'Hunter' in .454 Casull, 4" barrel and Mag=na-ported. Bisley or plow handle. 2. same gun except with a 5.5" barrel. ..........Widder
  10. Well, ole Widder is a Vet and also receives VA health care meowndangself. I started losing my hearing in the Navy....and it got documented on my DD214 (discharge document). That notation on my DD214 helped me A LOT in getting a disability rating. And since, I've gotten EXCELLENT care from the Knoxville, TN VA clinic. Anyhow, my older brothers situation is in process and I was just wondering what those 8 steps are. He was told he is at Step 4 at this time. Thanks for everyones comment. ..........Widder
  11. Actually, I think she's cute. But ya gotta realize, my perception is often questioned because I'm acquainted with TN Williams...... ..........Widder
  12. You obviously know Seamus..... ..........Widder
  13. Thanks Chief Rick. My brother and his wife will be glad to know these things. ..........Widder
  14. My older brother, while in the Marines, drank the contaminated water at Camp Lejeune. He's having health issues from it. The VA folks have told him that his request for disability is at a "STEP 4" in the process of approval or denial. But, they also told him there are '8 STEPS' involved. But, they couldn't tell him what those 8 steps actually are. Does any of the Saloonaholics know about these '8 STEPS'? ..........Widder
  15. DEACON: lI once owned a SIG P220 in 10mm. I just wasn't crazy about the 'feel'. All my 1911's are in .45 (super) and 3 of them are set up for 460 Rowland. I also load for 9mm for my daughters pistol and I prefer not to load up a new round. DOC: no special need, just looking for my next toy. I lean towards the 1911, particularly in .45. I once owned a TRP in 10mm and sold it to TN Williams. It was super reliable. It was also a 6" model. The TRP's have a great reputation and I don't have one in .45 ACP. My other 1911's are already set up for .45 SUPER and 460 Rowland. ..........Widder
  16. IF you had a choice, and not limited to the Springfield TRP or Prodigy, what would be your Christmas wish choice. I've narrowed mine to the TRP .45 or Prodigy 9mm. And price is irrelevant. Thanks ..........Widder
  17. If the perp is wanting your $10, give it to em, especially if they are holding a gun or knife at your throat. If they are abusing a child (sexual, beating with fist, slapping them around), then poke their eyeballs out and leave. The perp will never be able to identify you anyhow. ..........Widder
  18. OK.....I think I found my cure. After talking with SLATER (Slater's In-House-Guns), he gave me info I was looking for. Thanks everyone. ..........Widder
  19. about the width of 3 or 4 pieces of paper.....basically enough to slide a piece of 220 grit paper in it. ..........Widder
  20. If I understand DOC S. correctly, I agree with him. I been 'actively' shooting since 1973. Since the beginning, I've focused my attention on the front sight. Better put, I've focused on the front sight in relation to my rear sight, regardless of using an expensive front/rear sight combo or just the front/rear groove of a Vaq single action. Now, I do shoot a little quicker with my Cowboy guns (.32 Rugers, .357's and .45's) but that's because my 'other' handguns are big magnums...... .44's, hot .45 Colt loads, .460 and 500 S&W mags. Even in my 'plinking' sessions, I use the same principle in front/rear sight allightment, which includes two real nice Volquarsen Scorpions and a great S&W model 41 in .22 LR. Milage varies. ..........Widder
  21. I'm wanting to cut a slot in a metal rod. I've cut a slot before using my Dremel cutting wheel but the slot is just a little too wide. I'm wanting a THIN slot, just enough to slide a piece of sand paper thru it. Are there 'THIN' cutting wheels or tools that I can use for a thin slot?. ..........Widder
  22. I started reloading around 1975. Back then, I recall seeing those style cans of 700-X. But I don't recall that style can of Red Dot...... probably because my supply store didn't have any. I once had some 20 year old reloaded .44 mag ammo, using H-110. I also had some 20 year old H-110 powder and a NEW can of H-110. I loaded up a few 'fresh' rounds from each powder can and choreographed tested velocities of my OLD ammo, fresh ammo loaded with my OLD powder, and fresh rounds Loaded with my NEW powder. They ALL performed the same. Stored and kept correctly, our powders can basically last us a life time. I've never heard any stories of deterioration when stored correctly. ..........Widder
  23. Exactly. That's how I created my 'pancake head' looking base pin. Great minds think alike... ..........Widder
  24. FLR: There is a mod you can do to help remove he cylinder base pin when its length is slightly longer than the Ejecter Rod Housing. You can cut a notch into the Rod Housing to allow you to pivot the Ejector Rod finger tip to the side and allow a LITTLE more area to pull out the base pin completely. QUESTION: just how must more length do your need? Another suggestion: you can also get you some base pins that have what I call a 'pancake head'. Instead of the Base Pin having a portion you grab with your fingers, the Pancake Head base pin is flat like a dime and all you do is stick your thumb nail under it and push it outward. This gives you plenty of room to totally remove those long base pins. ..........Widder
  25. The 1st time I watched, I thought it might be a truck (duly style) with those little lights on the top of the cab. My 2nd watch, I 'thought it was a plane, but the take off confused me. Then on my 3rd watch, I think its a single engine little plane and the view is from the cockpit. Its hard to see the prop spinning, but its there. ..........Widder
