  1. hehehehe. Well, maybe I'll come close again. 😀 ..........Widder
  2. My M&P Compact .22 has the internal lock. My new M&P 2.0 'COMPETITOR' model does not have the lock, nor does it have the magazine safety disconnect. ..........Widder
  3. As of now, Slater and I will probably travel down and put a whooping on Capt BB. 😁 ..........Widder
  4. 1. the Widdermatic 2. the Widdermajik 3. Henry 'soft stroke' .22 and in my 73 years of life, I've made a few friends and created a few broken hearts..... 😀 ..........Widder
  5. PR ask some good questions. BR rifles can be costly. REAL BR rifles can be costlier. Special dies, trimmers, bullets, etc..... and costly scopes. You probably already know this, but because you stated..."modern bench rest", your talking the Creedmore type, plus 6BR and 6 PPC. I understand 'some' of the specially built 260 calibers do well at distantances also. I'm only familiar with the Donalson Wasp by name recognition. Never had one nor handled one. Wish I could be of more help. This should be an interesting thread. ..........Widder
  6. Golly Hoppy, A few more years and I was gonna catch up with you in the matches. Honestly, the few matches we both attended were extra special to me because of your involvement. It was your choosing the past couple years to shoot in the GF category, instead of Elder Statesman GF category, that prompted me to do the same. I feel honored to call you 'friend' and we always had good conversations when we crossed paths. You have been an inspiration...... no doubt. Here's wishing you well in your years ahead. You'll be missed. And may The Force continue to be with you. God Bless. ..........Widder
  7. Yea, at our age, that Teaberry Shuffle would really be called 'Break Dancing'..... 😀 ..........Widder
  8. We took those BB Cards and a clothes pin and clipped em on our bike spokes to make those motorcycle sounds. ..........Widder
  9. The penny 'vitamins' probably were for stopping the headaches from eating fried baloney (Bologna). 😀 If I recall, those 'vitamins' were a Cod Liver Oil pill. In elementary school, they were kept in a bowl, next to the cashier, at the end of the lunch line. And yes, they only cost 1-cent. This would have been around 1957 thru 1963. ..........Widder
  10. PR, I knew everyone of them from my youth. You actually missed another classic from long ago......... the glass milk bottles that used a little cardboard type cap and sealed with aluminum foil. And don't forget to shake em before you drink em. And don't forget the little 'Vitamin' you could buy in elementary school for 1-cent while going thru the lunch line. ..........Widder
  11. Personally, I don't know. I aint sure anyone has ever given me a pre 1900 model to check out. ..........Widder
  12. UPDATE: Fatboy Harley contacted me and basically, he had already checked out the firing pin and it appeared that it wasn't hitting the hole in the bolt as smooth as needed. Actually, it had a slight bend in the pin. He replaced it with a new pin, which seems to be correct and sit inside the bolt channel correctly. His new pin freely 'rattles' inside the bolt when he shakes it. He also checked the functioning of his firing pin in relationship to the lever being slightly opened. With his hammer cocked and the FP flush at the rear of the bolt, he SLOWLY and slightly opened his lever to see the firing pin protrude rearward about 1/4"..... which it should. With the lever still slightly opened, he pushed forward on the firing pin, which made the lever 'jiggle' just a little, then when he removed his finger from the rear of the firing pin, it freely pushed backwards again about 1/4", which tells us there is no drag or resistance on the FP inside the bolt channel. Lumpy, I hope I explained this situation and not made it confusing. When 'some' One Piece firing pins feel 'sticky' inside the bolt, its caused by the front shape of the one piece FP in relationship to the shape of the front of the channel cut inside the bolt. To remedy this type situation, the 1 piece FP 'collar' area can be slightly rounded to remove its edge. NOTE: The collar is the area of the FP where the angle shape meets the diameter of the FP body. This shape doesn't always fit right with the inside of the bolt channel at the front section. ..........Widder
  13. This ^ (and I hate to agree with TW) If I ain't mistaken, a ricochet hitting the target, is a MISS. And if the ricochet hits the correct TYPE target (like missing the correct pistol target and hitting another pistol target), it is still a MISS. I might add, if the spotters actually see the ricochet, there is no guessing 'the intent'. the INITIAL hit was a miss. EDIT: something to ponder: what if the bullet hit 5 or 10 feet in front of the shooter and then hits the target? Do you overlook the SDQ or MDQ initial hit and forget about any penalty? NOPE! ..........Widder
  14. Howdy Lumpy. I'll share all the info on the test and results/fix. As you know, there is an instant spot in opening the lever that retracts the firing pin. Without trying to type out how to test whether its a lever issue, firing pin issue, or bolt channel issue, its probably easier to talk with Harley and then determine the situation and cure. If its actually the Firing Pin, the cure will be fairly easy and simple........ assuming its not the firing pin alignment with the firing pin hole. Hope you are doing well. Catch ya later. ..........Widder
  15. Harley, Can you call me? 865 / 696-1996 Its a lot easier to tell you how to verify its the firing pin issue and how to fix it. ..........Widder
  16. The fussing and complaining about shortages was justified from many because we went from the availability of primers at approx $175 per case............ then there were NONE, except at gun shows for a whopping $800-$1000 per case. Seems 'our own' fellow gun owners, shooters, vendors, etc....... were putting the screws to us in just a matter of weeks. I can't speak for others, but primers and .22 ammo was still in abundance....... but only at gun shows with prices too high to pay. I think that is where most of the complaining was coming from. Today, primers are advertised anywhere from the $60+ dollar range (per brick) up to $100 per brick. And when nobody seemed to have any .22 ammo, Walmart would still get their allotment every week, the scalpers would show up (or their own employees friends) when the shipments arrived, and buy them all at Walmart prices. Then at the next gun show, the .22's would be there at nearly 3 to 5 times the Walmart prices. I would see CCI Mini-Mag 100 round packs for $50 and up. Walmart prices were still around $12 per pack when you could get there before the scalpers. I never ran low on primers or .22 ammo........ and I sold 5 cases of primers to friends during the shortage for $175 per case. It will now cost me approx $800 per case to replace those primers. The very folks whom we often share the breakfast table were poisoning the chicken for supper. ..........Widder
  17. This is my understanding: When 'evidence' is obtained ILLEGALLY by LEO's, it can't be used in convicting someone of a crime. AND, if DA tries to use such info in court, the Judge can shut them down and even cite them with 'contempt'. Now here is what stems my question: lets say an unauthorized entity hacks into someones computer and stills some 'juicy info' that can harm someone politically or socially. And that unauthorized entity gives that info to a newspaper or magazine to make public. Because the info was ILLEGALLY obtained, can the newspaper/magazine legally publish the info, although it was 'illegally' obtained? Would 'freedom of speech' protection allow such publicity without being liable for the content or the manner in which the info was obtained (hacked)? ..........Widder
  18. I might add that Capt BB is ugly on the outside..... like most of us, but he is mechanically sound with a heart made with Silver and Gold in it. 😀 ..........Widder
  19. The Ladies......... as a whole, they are darn faster and more of them. And yet...... still very pretty and sweet. ..........Widder
  20. I've outlived atleast 2 of my high school sweethearts. And they were dear sweet souls. I grew up from a bed baby in church thru high school, with 4 close male friends who have all passed on. There were 5 of us that ran around together from racing our tricycles to racing our cars in high school, double dating, etc...... and they have all passed away. When the local drive-in movie theater had those "All Nite" monster or scary movies, me and those fellers would borrow my brothers pickup truck, load up the cooler with ice and Pepsi, and view those movies from the back of the truck, telling lies and talking about beautiful girls we knew. It's been a wonderful life, with a Dad that lived 85 years and Mom lived 96. I have no idea where my very first Nickel was spent, but I've also managed to spend every one since then and still have no idea where they went. 😀 ..........Widder
  21. At 73+, I dont 'FEEL' old but I have a couple of signs that tell me I'm not as durable as before. Such as: 1. I can't take 95 degree heat like I once could. Now, I can only work outside in this Southern humidity about 2 hours before sitting down a spell under a shady tree for some sweet ICE TEA. 2. I wear glasses cause my eyes dont focus as well as before. And my hearing has drifted off into the twilight zone. 3. my hair is grey and thinning on top. I still have a bunch, but not as much as I would like to have. I still enjoy shooting, looking at pretty girls, eating Mexican foods, buying guns, cleaning up my truck, and watching westerns on TV. I still get up on Sunday morning for church. And I take a good showers about every 2 days, whether I need it or not. And about once every 2 months, 6 of us 'old friends' get together for an evening of Poker. Oh yea..... I still enjoy riding my ATV back on the farm. And as soon as I get my 6mm BR loaded up, I'm gonna do some good varmint hunting for crows, groundhogs and coyotes. ..........Widder
  22. Speaking of old........ when I was young, I pronounced 'Dyslexic'....... (are you ready for this)........... LESDISTIK. P.S. - they had to invent the .22 rifle so that I could shoot up all the .22 ammo I buy. 😀 ..........Widder
  23. Psychologist, thru years of various studies, have concluded that a high percentage of childhood dreams turn into professional reality when the child grows up. For example, if your son or daughter played doctor during their childhood, its a good chance they will enter the medical profession as an adult. If your child likes to keep animals such as cats, dogs or even lizards and frogs, it a good chance he or she will be a veterinarian (Petinarian). Personally, as a child, I always dreamed of having a BB Rifle and as a teenager, I wanted a .22 rifle. I always enjoyed shooting my grandpas and uncles .22 rifles when we visited in the country. I now shoot .22 pistols and rifles all the time. So now, we can understand why TN Williams is such a big BOOB! 😀 ..........Widder
