  1. A good anvil will support your steel and hand your hammer back to you. For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. That's what you're after when your hammering steel. A soft, cast iron anvil absorbs your hammer blows so your arm does more work, pulling your hammer back to swing again. If you hit a good anvil with a good hammer you'll get a beautiful RING, when you hit a P.O.S. anvil the best you'll ever get is Thuck. (don't hit the face with a hammer without hot steel in between. Hit the heel, or under the horn to check the ring. At least until you own it! Remember Blacksmiths only go to hell for two reasons. Pounding on cold iron, and not charging enough for their work.

  3. I have a pair I'll sell. Let me know.
  4. I have a pair of buffalo horn grips that I had on a 2001 ruger. They are the thin gunfighter grips. I can send you some pictures if you give me your e-mail address.

  5. Hi Helda: Sorry I didn't respond sooner I haven't quite got the new board figured out. According to the only source I kind find on your comment the guys name was Kenny Paul and it's rumored that he died of Hanta Virus. Lost a horse to EHV-1 too. Basically a bad weekend all around!

  6. Hey BJ! A cutter friend of mine says there was a man from Moriarity at the Ogden show who died from a respitory illness. 3 kids and a wife in his 40s. His horse had that virus too. Have you heard anything about that?

  7. Reins arrived yesterday. Thanks

  8. that horse you are shooting from looks like my first horse, a silver buckskin appy, Magnificent Dodge. Sold him to a 10-year old girl in 2005.
