  1. I was privileged to serve with a sniper who was an awesome hunter whose son's my youngest son's hunting partner and a sniper officer and rifle competitor in my localMarine Corps League detachment. They were really squared away and focused and fun to be with. They have also passed away
  2. My tom cat, Max, handles mice for me He savors their guts. He leaves them on my bedroom deck and occasionally on my bed. He's good at sharing.
  3. My Cowboy Fast Draw membership. Number is 36 and is mine forever That's true of your SASS number. I enjoy traveling to SASS matches despite the mileage. I just take.it slow!!! My.only concern is what my category will be when I turn 90. If SASS follows through. Will I go from El Rey to L'Empreuer? My choice for the name of my category at 100 is "Survivor". I haven't a clue what to call 95.
  4. If you don't utilize anything but news, you should be able to remain in SASS for a nominal fee. I am a Life Member and shoot as an El Rey gun fighter but understand your position. I enjoy the camaraderie
  5. Max, my Tomcat, is a great hunter. I Iive in the forest so every conceivable pest lives here. Max cleaned my house and is working on my yards and fields. He isn't limited to mice!!!
  6. Jason Aldesn is a country & Western singer. His latest song.is "You can't do that in a small town!" The left absolutely hates it!!! I love it!!!
  7. Jason Aldean is the only singer who's songs are worth anything!
  8. We had a storm and my electronic stuff completely failed unfortunately for me. I suffered a heart attack but my land line phone worked and I'm still alive. I wanted to drop it and canceled it. My sons are very tech conscious but wanted me to have a landline for safety and put mine back in on their account so I couldn't cancel it. Now, I'm shooting as an El Rey instead of a dim memory
  9. I carried my personal Colt Government Model while in the Corps and my S&W model 29 .45 mag when deployed. I could do that as an MOS 2572. I never carried a rifle after ITR. My smartass officer son told me "Dad, you were in a different Marine Corps." My point is neither I nor anyone else should carry anything but the very best!
  10. I use dutch ovens for Scouts and competition. JB Weld is my first choice. I do not have a second choice. :-)
  11. The NRA ILA is opposing Biden's new ATF's propsed banning private sales rule.
  12. The bill passed the House and is on the way to the Senate
  13. The Arming Idaho teachers bill has passed the House and is on the way to the Senate.
  14. Yacht club members have a 3 loop strip insignia on their sleeve. Officer's have one strip and wear the enblem of their specialty on the upper loop. Flag Officers: Rear Commodore has an additional stripe and a gold star in the upper loop, Vice Commodore have another strip and two gold stars placed on the.bottom loops Commodore have yet another strip and a gold star in each loop Retired flag officers keep their loops and stripes with the stars removed The stripe tradition came from the Eoropean and English armies and navies How's that for trivia? H9
  15. FWIW, I fire thousands of CCI and federal 22s during matches and practice with no problems and just normal clean up. My Model 41 and my High Standard nine shot Sentinel revolver have provided me with excellent service using that ammunition
  16. All Idaho voters need to contact their State Senator and both of their State House Representatives to support this as an important commonsense solution to school shootings. HB 415 allows teachers and school employees to carry firearms in Idaho schools. Idaho is protecting our children by enhancing school safety under our rights under the 2nd Amendment
  17. Remember, we took our NRA back decades ago and we need to do.it again The organizational structure must be changed Our life members must be in control our Board of Directors must be accountable to the membership, they must report to us regularly, need our authorization for major activities and expenditures and report the audit results at our annual meeting. We life members are the life blood of the NRA and must take back control. The younger life members have to get control. I'm a SASS El Rey life and Founders Ranch Platinum and Cowboy Fast Draw 36 and Life 15 so I sure as H ain't the future!!! I don't make long term plans. If I survive lunch, I think about dinner!!! :-)
  18. The audit is essential We, the members need to know, in as much detail as.possible, exactly what has been going on with our organization in order to get it back on to its intended goals.
  19. We members need to cut the Board of Directors to a reasonable size and make the current outsized one into an advisory group. We need to have a CPA firm such as Deloite perform an extensive audit. Our essential operations, such as firearms safety training, competitions and legislative activities need to be strengthened. William H Sills III Benefactor Member Rifle & Pistol Instructor Range Safety Officer Pistol, Rifle & BPCR competitor
  20. Practical pistols Hunting: S&W Model 29 .44Mag Bullseye: Les Baer .45ACP CAS: Roger Vaquero .45 Colt BP CCW: .44 Special snubbie ;-)
  21. I remember a "revolt" we had at the annual meeting years ago. We need another one!!!
  22. As an international investment banker, I needed a passport to travel to all kinds of horrible international countries for business. Now that I'm retired, my international travel is restricted to Canada. My last over one inch thick passport was happily not renewed.
