I have to ask. How would you fellas compare the recoil of these 45 "Cowboy Loads" to a standard 45 LC load? Is it really worth the headache and money to change up yer loading process? Thanks

Well Pards, Today is an auspicious occasion. You see a few years ago while serving as a Deputy Sheriff I was injured on duty and it ended my career. Now as we all know Law Enforcement is a contact sport and I'm grateful that the Lord was watching over me. But after the smoke cleared and the bills started to pile up I needed to bring in some money post haste. So with a tear in my eye I was forced to parted with my CAS firearms. However, since I sold my shooters to only friends and family we made the agreement that if ever the chance arose that I would in fact be allowed to buy them all back. So after six long years of physical and financial recovery I decided to give my old partner a call to see if he might return my long lost and dearly departed shooters to the loving arms (and holsters) of their right full owner. Well needless to say, when a true friend gives his word he keeps it and that's exactly what he did. So this afternoon with a knock on the door, my buddy returned my 66 Yellow Boy, my 1878 coach gun and both of my stainless 357 New Vaqueros. Yes sir, it feels like Christmas came early today. But to be honest, the best present is knowing that I have friends that are as good as their word. Take care

Don't get me wrong fellas, I'm not looking for race guns. So "slicked up" is probably not the best term. I actually bought the two New Vaqueros way back before I took a SASS hiatus. To be honest, they seemed kind of rough and I wanted them smoothed out back then. Now that I hope to start shooting again I hope to make that finally happen.

I'd like to have some work done to my pair of New Vaqueros in 357. I'm not looking for "race guns" but I would like them to work smoother than factory. What should I have done and who should I talk to? I am in the Wisconsin area. Is there anyone nearby? Cheers!

I can't help but notice the after market cylinder pin. Is that also a new version or after market ejection lever?

Agreed! I went to our Walmart and the Best Buy near by and the only westerns they had was the new Magnificent Seven. Walmart actually had one with a free copy of Silverado (Yeah I picked it up). However Target was also barren! I actually had better luck at a music shop that sells used dvds. How insulting.

You know. I didn't notice that til you pointed it out. But The movie is still the right one.

I remember when I first started CAS back in... 91 or 92??? No matter. We all pulled our guns together so we could all shoot and then each of us would buy our own ammo. There wasn't twenty different classes so everyone got a trophy. There wasn't customized race guns. Heck, at first we didn't even have metal targets. But back then almost all of the shooters (except the plainsmen) shot two-handed no matter what class they were. Later it became evident that some folks need to shoot two handed for one reason or another (perhaps safety?), while others shot with two hands because that's how they were taught. You know, I'd hate to see someone try to shoot one-handed when they don't have the skill or physical ability just to avoid a silly moniker. Besides, hackin' on someone isn't always a good way to make a friend.

Here's the first Sam Elliot movie I ever seen. I was on HBO and they had back to back westerns on. First was The Quick And The Dead followed by Silverado. That was a good afternoon.

Hey Pards, Do any of you kind folks know if they ever sold Ruger Vaqueros in 357 with a 7.5 inch barrel? I've seen the 44 mag, 44-40, hell I have the 45LC with a 7.5 inch barrel. But I never seen the 357 with 7.5. Thanks in advance and here's to you!
