  1. I have been shooting open tops for the last few years (I have 6, pairs in 3 calibers) so I have forsaken Top breaks. Well, I work part time in a local gun shop, and guess what came in? A Uberti No. 3, 1st Model "American" 5" top break in .44 Spcl/Russian! It had been back ordered several years ago, apparently, but there is no longer any record of who ordered it, nor was there a deposit paid. Boss knew I like cowboy guns, and offered it to me, to work off with shifts! I said "hell yes!". I liked it so much, I contacted Cimarron and arranged to get an 8" in the same caliber. I ow have a pair. They go great with my 1860 Henry and hammered double. I used them at a local match last week end and loved them. I am loading a 246 grain, conical round nose lead .44 Russian bullets over 5.3 grains of Unique in a Starline .44 Russian case. Pretty much dead on at 7 yards.
  2. True, I have shot standard Black Hills .38 Colts with solid bullets, and they hit the plate every time at usual SASS match range.
  3. Five pairs of CAS pistols is too much! For sale: A Pietta 1860 .44 caliber Army, 5.5" "Sheriff" Model black powder revolver with extra BP cylinder, Kirst .45 Colt/Schofield gated conversion cylinder and ejector rod, and as a bonus a Kirst .45 ACP conversion cylinder also! It will come as a percussion revolver, and have the Kirst 5 shot .45 Schofield and Colt conversion cylinder with loading gate, ejector assembly, and .45 ACP cylinder separate. Never used with BP, and only used at one match with .45 Schofield ammo. It has original box and paperwork, I am selling you a black powder percussion revolver, and sending the Kirst Konverter in separate packages so you can convert it to a cartridge revolver. Price $575 including shipping. NO TRADES! Contact me by private message.
  4. These only work with hollow base bullets: i.e. 148 HBWC or the hollow base 150 like the ones that I load with the 150 HBRN from bear creek. The percussion have a .375" bore. Ten-X (now defunct) was the only one commercially producing the 150 HBRN loads. Buffalo Arms is loading them using the Bear Creek bullets, the last I heard. Read my .38 Colt Article in the April Chronicle. I cover loading .38 Colt in it.
  5. Five pairs of CAS pistols is too much! For sale: A pair of Pietta 1860 .44 caliber Army black powder revolvers, one 8" and 5.5". Included are one Engraved Saber River, and one plain Kirst Konverter sets, so you can convert them to cartridge revolvers. These are the two pistols I used in the Kirst Saber River Cowboy Chronicle article. They come as percussion revolvers, and have the Kirst 5 shot .45 Schofield and Colt conversion cylinders with gate and ejector assemblies separate. They have original boxes and paperwork, I am selling you two black powder percussion revolvers, and sending the Kirst Konverter in separate packages so you can convert them. Price $1250 with shipping. NO TRADES! Contact me by private message.
  6. Five pairs of CAS pistols is too much! For sale: A pair of Pietta 1851 .36 caliber Navy black powder revolvers, one 7.5" and 5". Included are two Kirst Konverter sets, so you can convert them to cartridge revolvers. These are the two pistols I used in the Kirst Saber River Cowboy Chronicle article. They come as percussion revolvers, and have the Kirst 6 shot .36 Colt / Special conversion cylinders with gate and ejector assemblies separate. They have original boxes and paperwork, and come with 500 rounds Starline .38 Colt Brass, and about (500) 150 grain hollow base, round nose, Bear Creek .357"Bullets that obdurate into the percussion .375" bore. (see my articles in the Chronicle for details.). These bullets can be used in standard .357 bore revolvers and rifles. (see photo below for my .38 Colt load next to original .38 Colt with 150 HBRN bullet) Both cylinders have .375' throats so you can also load the original heeled base bullets. Several reproduction .38 colt boxes like the one pictured are also included. (Some of those are included, too) I am selling you two black powder percussion revolvers, and sending the Kirst Konverter in separate packages so you can convert them. Price $1150 with shipping. 7. Yep. My Persona is an 1870's lawman in the California Gold fields, so I only use it Wild Bunch, which I seldom shoot any more.
  8. For sale, no trades. Beautiful limited edition Marlin 1894 made to celebrate 100 years, only 2500 made by John Marlin (before Remington took over). 24" tapered octagonal barrel, gorgeous color case hardening by Doug Turnbull, and fully engraved by Giovonni somebody or other (LOL). Burled walnut stock with brass crescent butt plate. 12+1. Crazy smooth and accurate. I've cut back on matches, and now just shoot my HRA 1860 Henry and my Anderson .44 Colt conversions. Needs to go to new home $1100 +45 shipping to FFL of your choice. PPT FTF through my dealer in Grass Valley, CA also available. Hasn't even been one on gunbroker in six months., so they are hard to find.
