  1. Did you read the letter, and if so, how much money were they asking you to invest in or to buy something?
  2. The Henry action in 45-70, or 30-30, or 45LC, or 44mag, or 357mag, etc. is just a copy of the modern Marlin 336/1895. "Brass" frame or steel frame, it's just a copy of a Marlin action. An older JM Marlin 1895 in 45-70, especially the 26" octagon barrel model, before Remington took over production, or a Browning 1886 made in the 1990's is a far superior firearm. Yes, you will pay more for a used one of these than maybe a new Henry, but you will be getting a much better rifle.
  3. Don't waste your time looking at this list. It's BS. Maybe 3 or 4 might possibly be on a 25 best Western list.
  4. Whether in Vegas as Elvis, or at a CAS match or on TV as Tupelo Flash, he was a lot of fun, and a lot of folks may have got interested in CAS because of him. Met him at a monthly match at Norco and enjoyed talking with him.
  5. Casablanca is one of my all time favorite movies. I have probably watched it 30 or more times. I have the Blue Ray version. This info just makes watching it much more enjoyable. Has to be in the top 10 greatest movies of all time.
  6. Try contacting Barbwire, Gail Snow, MD at Cowtown, AZ. E-mail is: snow.g@att.net or 480-773-2753.
  7. Southern Comfort. It was prescribed for me by my cardiologist after my quadruple bypass as one the best medicines to keep my arteries clean. Alcohol works great on cleaning stuff!!!!!! And it tastes great with some frozen water!!!!!
  8. BREAKING NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Here I was at the Gun Show today in Prescott Valley, AZ, and who do I see walking and talking to folks just coming towards me? FORTY ROD!!!!!!!!! He is home, and told me he feels good, and that the Doc's and Nurses at the local VA real helped him get thru this problem. Folks, all your prayers where answered. HE'S BACK, AND PROBABLY STILL OUT OF CONTROL!!!!!!
  9. Blackwater, it's me again. Sorry, I just can't remember Tom's last name, so trying to call hospitals looking for him isn't working.
  10. Blackwater, what hospital is he in? VA in Prescott or YRMC/Dignity Health in Prescott or Prescott Valley?
  11. Forty, don't know what the medical problems are that have put you in the ER the last couple of days, but you are in my prayers my friend.
  12. No Lumpy, his IQ is still probably higher than, well, "a lot of folks younger than him."
  13. Well, I hope it's on Thursday, so all of the Cowboy breakfast friends of his at Zeke's in Prescott, AZ can give him a big "Hurraahh". 82 years old. Hmm...had breakfast with him last Thur., and he doesn't look a day older than Moses.
  14. How many of you folks remember when Tex was the editor of the Chronicle before Skinny? Tex went on a multy month rage against "blue jeans." What Happened? All of a sudden you started seeing a hell of lot of folks wearing "blue jeans." Shooting Bull wears a "costume" from a famous comedy movie western movie we have all seen numerous times , and have laughed our heads off. You go Bull!!!!!!!!!
  15. Rules say "basically NO SHORT sleeve shirts for males", but females can wear whatever they want. You can call what he is wearing a vest or a shirt, don't care, but it has NO sleeves. So is he violating the dress code? How about male shooters who have shot at NATL and World shoots not wearing any shirt, just bib overalls and no socks or shoes. Bull, I will defend you against the "clothing" you know what's.
  16. Congratulations Phil on being the EOT 2024 Elder Statesman World Champion. I have known and shot with you since you started in CAS, and you are one hard working, dedicated competitor. Yeah, he probably should have been shooting on crutches or in a wheel chair. Good luck on your knee replacement this coming Wed.
  17. Congratulations Bess, hope to see you next Sat. at ACSA.
  18. Congratulations to Sadie and Knott and hope to see and shoot with you next Sat. at ACSA.
  19. Sometimes shooting clean has an advantage. Congratulations to my partner Turquoise Bill.
  20. Ummm...Rooster, you got Ken Curtis's picture of Festus, mixed up with Buck Taylor, Newly O'Brian on Gunsmoke. Met Buck at EOT 2004 at his tent with a lot of his paintings on display. Very nice gentleman to talk to about his movie and TV career.
  21. Guess I am lucky. In 28yrs of shooting and being a TO at CAS matches, in 9 different western states, have never seen a shooter take more than, let's say 20 seconds, to try to solve a firearm problem and go on and finish a stage. Stuff happens, and you just go on and have a happy life.
  22. My question is, can you legally get any of them back across the border to California? Perfectly legal for AZ residents.
