Well I will get a reservation list going.

    CLASSIC COWBOY/ COWGIRL DINNER

    WHERE: Legacy Kansas https://legacykansasabilene.com/

    WHEN: May 3rd...  Friday 5pm

MEAL:  Pan Fried Chicken / Steak

(see link for more menu info)

I believe they serve everything family style, big ole bowls/plates of biscuits and others sides that are just passed around the table.  Great food and you will love the atmosphere!

Let me know how many and what meal you would like, as reservations are needed.

Looking at the menu I don't see Steak I see beef ground into patties and skillet cooked.  Here is a cut and paste of the menu:

    Brookville Classic Skillet Fried Chicken

Chicken is cooked in regular seasoned flour. If you need a gluten-free option, we do offer baked chicken.

    14oz Munson's Premium Angus Beef

The Munson beef is graded as Prime dry aged beef

1st Place Winner At The American Royal As The Country's Best-Tasting Beef.

Beef is ground, formed into 2 7oz patties, and cooked on a skillet seasoned with Kosher salt and fresh cracked black Tellicherry peppercorn.

Patties are topped with sauteed cremini mushrooms and onions.

On the side is a white steak cream sauce made from heavy whipping cream, grilled onions, garlic Worcestershire, Dijon mustard, and fresh cracked black Tellicherry peppercorn.

The Munson beef is graded as Prime dry-aged beef that took 1st place at the American Royal as the country’s best-tasting beef.

My dad, Rusty Drall, has a very old Springfield ‘03 rifle with a 13,000 serial number that puts its manufacture date at 1903.

I’ve heard that the older versions could have brittle receivers and that some failed catastrophically using modern ammo. The rifle has been checked by a qualified gun smith who deemed it safe to shoot, but he recommended that lower pressure loads be used.

I’d like to speak with anyone on the WIRE who has experience loading .30-06 for the older BAMs. I have a large selection or bullets and powders and would like to work up a load that is safe for my dad to shoot in this old gun.

Shoot me a PM if you have some experience in this arena. Thanks

Very Cool!  :D  I collect US Military Long Arms and I have a 1903 made in 1903 with a 1905 dated barrel.  Serial number 9091 but unfortunately it is 30-06 and not 30-03 but has the old style stock.  :P  It will never be fired by me.

  3. I did the wax shooting competition at several of the SASS conventions years ago and the acuracy of the arms and bullets even at those close distances was very sporadic at best.  Maybe those single shot pistols were more accuarte.

Thank you All for the Welcome !!!!!

My Wife and I made it out to EOT yesterday afternoon -- much appreciated for the ride from and back to our truck by the folks running the shuttle... Got to meet Scarlett and some other fine folks who were in her shop when we arrived --- absolutely great Hugs given...Thank you -- the Mrs. got some great gun advice from one of the ladies in the tent...

Walked around the vendor's shops, met Brad w/ Taylor & Co --- incredibly large display & learned somethings about pistol grips both from Brad and another gentleman who was looking a Bisley type pistols.  I didn't know that on some pistols there's a flat behind the hammer while other's have rounded frames at that location nor the differences in grips/finger positions between regular, birds head and gunfighter for those of us with larger hands.

Watched some of the quick draw participants on the far west side of the area --- the depth/attention to detail that shooters & spouses went to, to participate in character was amazing --- Next year we'll have to get tickets to the EOT dinner, observe the costume/in-character contest & get to interact more with the other attendees. Have to pick out some new attire for us both so that we can travel back to the old west for a spell...

above all --- Thank You to all who made us feel welcome!!!!

    Dr. & Mrs. Zook

Outstanding, glad you both made it out and sounds like you had a good time!   Well the hook it now set. :)

I didn't like the roller handle but I REALLY like the LED light that goes in the round hole/middle of the block.

I didn't like the strong mounts either. had to use a stool type chair (uncomfortable). Remounted to the bench and use an armless office chair instead.

My LED light kit is a series of small lights that are installed with sticky back in a U shape on the underside of the frame with the open end where the tool head slides in.
