  1. Just shot the Upper and Lower Canada Wild Bunch Match. Did as poorly as ever for 6 stages of an 8 stage match, then things got worse: my '97 's ejector decided to go awol and the parts disappeared in the grass. Looked, but only found the claw, not the little pin thingee that pushes the claw. Now I can only hope my G'smith can find the part for my Chapparral '97 and fix it. Now get off the grass. I'm still looking for the pin thingee
  2. The name Gail Love ring any bells??

  3. Finally getting some summer type weather around here. But not for long! Geese are flocking and doing practice formation runs and the squirrels are scurrying around. I guess they know something wicked this way comes. I sure hope we don't get as much snow, this coming winter, as we did rain this summer!! That would make me really GRUMPY!! Now: GET OFF THE LAWN!
  4. Had a good time at Cornwall with Ruff's Regulators on Saturday. Don't know how I did. Don't care. Had fun......then, but now I'm GRUMPY! Monday and I was to meet Red storm at EOSC and it's raining cats and dogs. Again. Sure hope the new CAS range doesn't get flooded again, 'cause we have our club level match September 9 Grump. Going downstairs to load some .45's
  5. Off to Kingston for our posses this weekend. Frontenac Regulators Eighth Annual match. This years theme "Classic Western Movies" in six stages. I'll bring the MH and stay on the range overnight. I just hope the rain and wild weather we've been having holds off or: I'll get really GRUMPY!
  6. Had fun Saturday with The Wild Turkey Posse and a match about NOTHING. Two stages with challenging bonuses that we had a lot of fun with. The sound and light show Friday night was interesting. Lottsa a thunder and lightning strikes around us. It even woke up Red Storm, Regulator, from his comatose state in the motor home. Leatherface, who was parked beside us almost jumped out of his skin when one burst overhead. Here's Leatherface re-setting the bonus swinger and patching the cardboard target below the window. It's activated by hitting the red square I'm having a GRUMPY moment since Stranger has announced the cancellation of the Buffalo Rifle Match on the 19th Now, GET OFF MY LAWN!
  7. Getting the covered wagon loaded, after I finish this, and heading to Cornwall for the match transferred from Eastern Ontario Shooting Club. Dang range road to the cowboy shooting bay, as well as the bay itself, still partially flooded and too muddy to get anything on it. Light at the end of the tunnel though, since crushed stone is soon going to be laid on the road and extra drainage installed for the CAS dedicated shooting bay. Can hardly wait to get building permanent shed and props.
  8. 73 mm around here yesterday. Farm fields around North Gower, now have kids in their boats rowing in the fields, as seen on CTV Ottawa just now. I thought I told you to : GET OFF MY LAWN!
  9. Wish we could send you some of the rain we've been having since May. Creek across the road from me has never been so high. Grass is leaping out of the lawn. Ranges and shooting bays flooded. Matches cancelled or moved to other venues. A real pain. So, GET OFF MY LAWN! Yore leaving footy prints and holes where yer walkin'!
  10. We have a TO/RO/Spotter rule that every "P" called must be explained to the shooter before they leave the stage.
  11. Imis: You P'd on yourself? Will "DEPENDS" fit under yore pants?
  12. I wish. Just can't risk taking her too far from her Doctors and the hospital with all her records.
  13. Can't She-Who-Must-Be-Obeyed had another series of bad falls. Twice in the bathroom and once in the family room. Emergency room visits, stitches, MRI's concussion. Sure wish the Doctors would get to the bottom of everything that's wrong and do something. (And no, she doesn't drink.)
  14. Chuck wagon races cancelled last night, due to thunderstorm/lightning strike taking out the track lights. DANG!! I was looking at some pictures from the 40's, '50's and 60's Lottsa changes. The upgraded, light weight speed wagons and stoves are sure different from the old days!! I wanted to be there this year, but SWMBO is unable to travel and I can't leave her to herself for that long. She feels pretty bad about that. SO I'M GRUMPY! NOW GET OFF MY LAWN!
  15. How did you do? I mean, Did you have fun? Wet with a lot of rain around here lately. Matches cancelled and/or moved to other ranges to get them done. Grass is growing so fast, but is so wet, it's hard to get cut, so: GET OFF MY SOGGY LAWN!
  16. Finally finished the Cowboy Golf series, with Ruff's Regulators, at The Cornwall Rod and Gun Club on Saturday. Hard to be grumpy. Had too much fun even if Red Storm beat me out of first place in my category. (Old and decrepit) Dad-burned rain flooded our new CAS range at EOSC and we had to cancel and move the matches a few times, including from the Grenville Fish and Game Club; home of the Wild Turkey Posse. Whole series was almost a month behind, (OK, that made me GRUMPY!) and we didn't get to show off our new dedicated Cowboy range at EOSC. Too wet and flooded. Couldn't even get in with the tractor. Anyway, thanks to Tumbleweed Tom (from the swamp) for the great match booklet all the graphics and looking after the handicapping. Next up: Buffalo Rifle Match at Kingston.
  17. And folks wonder why I have dash cams in the vans and the motor home. Now: Get off the lawn or get out the mower.
  18. Welcome back, but I think I'm the Grumpier of us. Another match day cancelled. New dedicated CAS shooting bay on the range is too wet to to get the tractors and front end loaders to tow in the prop sheds and the Sea-container to hold the steel. Smaller trailer is busted so even trying to use the Gator to move stuff is no good and all the wranglers are gettin' a little long in the tooth to try carrying over the steel and shrouding for a 6 stage match; then carry it back to put it away. So I am GRUMPIER than usual. SO: GET OFF MY SOGGY LAWN!
  19. Figured out what might have gone wrong. Shot old reloads, made for 25 and 50 yard range using semi-wad-cutters and shot over the top of the plates. Shooting Part 2 of 3, of the Cowboy Golf Series, this Saturday, so I'll use my new reloads and keep my fingers crossed. Maybe, just maybe, I won't be so grumpy on Sunday. NOW GET OFF MY LAWN!
  20. Back from the Cowboy Golf match, part 1 of 3. Had what could only be called a train wreck. Haven't missed so much since I was toddling with a .22 supported by my Father. NOW GET YORE SELF OFF MY LAWN!
  21. Had to have what was left of the grass whatever that green stuff was growing on my front and side lawns, (I'm on a corner), dug up with a BobCat and trucked away along with some of the grubs and Chinch bugs that resided therein. New topsoil, peat moss and sod set me back beaucoup $$. Just hope it takes. Now that I need the rain, it's stopped around here and I have to water. NOW GET OFF MY LAWN!
  22. Page 5 HUMPH!! Jabez ain't gonna be pleased!! I'm in a GRUMPY mood to begin with! Another match day cancelled because of a flooded range. This time it was at Grenville. Oh well, at least Findlay Creek beside our place has gone down.
  23. I'M GETTIN' GRUMPY! First, this is on page 3! Jabez is gonna be disappointed in usn's Second; and this is makin' me REALLY GRUMPY! The match at Cornwall has been cancelled. Too much rain and things are flooded out. I was going even though my knees are aching because of Arthur. (You know: Arthur Itis: All this rain around here is causing flooding on the banks of the Rideau, Gatineau and Ottawa rivers. The creek beside my place is getting' near the top, so I'm watchin' it careful like.
