  1. Now this feller can NEVER be a GOFWG Territorial Governor Rooster Corrigan.
  2. That's what the training is all about. She is getting the good at the "GET OFF THE LAWN" part, but not so good yet at the GRUMPY all the time. But she's coming along nicely.
  3. Here is one of our future GRUMPS, or as we call them, "GRUMPS IN TRAINING"
  4. Jabez' has only been gone for a couple of days and here we are on page 3 already. We is gonna hear about it if we let things slip! Four Fingers Fred was late getting up and dressed for the match. Here he is being checked for illegal clothing by Ruff Justice and Tumble Weed Tom, a couple of other GRUMPS.
  5. OK GRUMPS, Looks like we are on our own for a bit and Jabez wouldn't like to learn this was on page 4, so: GET OFF THE LAWN!
  6. Hey Jabez! Must be getting close to the time you head off to Uganda. Don't worry: Us GRUMPS left behind will keep the fire going. AND STAY OFF THE LAWN!
  7. Nice to see folks older than my 74 years still out playing cowboy, (Like the over 80++OK Valley Kid!) But the Kid is too up-beat and happy to really fit in here!.
  8. SASS Alias: The Cold Lake Kid SASS Number: 51474 From: Originally Cold Lake, Grande Centre, Medley, Albertan now living in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Shooting since 1953 Cowboy Action shooting since 2002, SASS member since 2003 with The Ottawa Valley Marauders and The Wild Turkey Posse
  9. SWMBO is out and slowly coming around. Expensive treatment here, where we are at the moment, but insurance will cover $$ except for any deductible. Oh well, at least it's warm. I think Stranger shot with/mentioned a Swallow Fork from a match at Barrie, a couple of years ago.
  10. Still here. Back from the hospital emergency room etc. SWMBO in for a bit after another fall.
  11. Annoy Pale Wolf? That sounds like fun! Meantime however: GET OFF MY LAWN!
  12. Hey, that's good news! Next thing ya know, you'll be Grandpa Jabez, babysittin' and bouncing a young'un on your knee. Enjoy it pard.
  13. OOHH! Jabez! You said a bad thing. You know that as harmless, peace-loving Canucks, we're just supposed to call 911, then lie back, and take it.
  14. I looked it up. That is a nice looking shotgun. I'll be anticipating a range report once you get to try it out!!
  15. We had a January Thaw here in Ottawa. I had a drift almost four foot high piled beside my driveway and 2 foot in the flat areas. Temperature went up above 12 degree C. it rained and most of the snow melted and the grass reappeared. Three hours later: a fast freeze, with freezing rain, followed by snow. Think I'll do some Snowbirding in a couple more weeks.
  16. How about a picture of the HUGLO? I've heard of them - Good Things! After a couple of weeks of -20 to -30 temperatures, today, the temperature does an about face and goes above freezing and we're expecting rain, followed by more sub-zero temperatures; just to make driving interesting. And I get to take SWMBO to the hospital for tests. (Thought I was back home for an instant and we we're having a Chinook!) Now get off my snow covered lawn.
  17. Pass thanks. SWMBO and I will try for Florida. Now get off my lawn! Yore footy prints, in that snow, turn to ice and I gets winter kill come spring.
  18. Mid-February?? HOLY SMOKE! You lucky Basket! We'll have sub zero temps right into March and sometimes April.
  19. MIne too. Two uncles won the MM; one in the trenches in WWI and the other in the Bocage country of Normandy, in WWII, one an MC, while Dad was awarded an MBE as well as his CD. Father in law came back early, because of wounds, with an DCM, after Dieppe.
  20. No guns this year and the new Wild Bunch rig hasn't arrived yet, but I did receive a surprise addition to my medal collection, to augment something similar I received a while ago. More shadow boxes for the displays are now in order and I'll have to re-arrange things on the walls in my den/office. Here's one of a set of something of a Canadian nature I recently completed: The Order of Military Merit, in the degrees of Companion, Officer and Member. Sorry for the side ways pic. I can't seem to make it "hang" properly in the post.
  21. You really don't want to hit one of those. I've seen a couple of cars and pick-up trucks that have, around Thunder Bay and Mattawa. The drivers and those in the front seats did not survive.
