  1. Suggested by my Francophone relations, in honour of their Accadian relations in Louisiana!! * HEY! Blame Roxanne and Pierre! They're the ones!
  2. Over 120 kids (and some not so small!) It's warm here for a change, at Halloween, and a couple of young girls showed up dressed pretty scantily! If I was a REAL dirty old man, I'd have invited them in for a drink!!!
  3. I'll answer the door and hand out treats wearing my CAS Pvt's uniform, a distant relation, from the 27th Georgia, who has the same name as I.
  4. AHHH, the cute little tree rats. If they aren't shorting the hydro lines, they find a way into someone's attic and make a nest: Defecating, urinating, having litters and dying in the insulation, as a lady in my old neighbourhood discovered. Very $$$$$$$ having it remedied. Hantavirus etc.
  5. I have lost faith in electronic devices used in such an important thing as voting. Too many ways to skew the results, in my view. I would rather return to paper ballots, hand counted, to ensure and honest, assured result. If it took a couple of days to complete the count, so what? I can live with that, even if it screws up the media, having to wait. Other countries seem to survive having to wait and even go through run-off elections weeks later.
  6. I always called it my Dopp Kit, (Army) as did my Father (RCAF)
  7. I was lucky and found an on line Canadian site, that provides Trader Ratings etc. for buyers and sellers in it's wide ranging offerings. I have been able to buy and sell all sorts of things, including knives, camping gear, rifles, shoguns and prior to the "Freeze" on legal handgun sales, a number of handguns, including my SASS guns. Is there something like that in the USA?
  8. For a real crappy "Gun Show", drop in to a Canadian one. SHUDDER. You can find a few fudge dealers though.
  9. Ours was Hermit Sherry or Concord Grape Wine
  10. Mandatory text demanded by system, after picture deletion.
  11. Did this for a couple of summers with the Ceremonial Guard of the Governor General's Foot Guards, (GGFG) standing post at Rideau Hall, the Governor General's residence, as well as The Changing of the Guard on Parliament Hill. The Busby and the FN/FAL with the black pants and red tunic made it............fun in the summer. One young Guardsman had a kid try to stick him with pin or something, while the Guardsman was on post but found out the hard way, that kind of behaviour was not acceptable.
  12. I'm confused. Is this a Walmart display or are they customers?
