Star-Line makes .40-65 brass ,,, or as I mostly do ( I'm Cheap ) just put .45-70 brass in your sizing die pull the handle , raise it up out comes perfect .40-65 brass minus the Head-stamp... You may or may not need to trim them a little ...

If I want to shoot Real long Range I take out my Highwall in .40-65 ,,,, I also have two .38-55s and a .45-70
The .40-65 shoots Flatter drifts less and Kicks less than a .45-70 in the same weight gun ...
The .38-55 kicks the least , but lacks the range and hitting power ....
We were shooting a .38-55 in a highwall with 249 gr. bullets at 600 yards the bullet needed 22 feet of elevation to reach the gong..
My highwall in .40-65 with my load using a 385 gr. bullet needed only 6.5 feet of elevation to hit the same target...
Both guns are finely accurate and can ring the steel, but the .40-65 makes it more sure when the wind blows....

Got da LOW-WALL in .38-40 to hitting da plate at 286 yards at Palmers ,, everyone enjoyed shooting it and ringing Steel with-out recoil to speak of ....
Great gun fer teaching Grand-kids and Ladies ta shoot ,,, and just plain fun to shoot ...
Survived da Rain ,,,,, Had a great bunch in our Wagon Circle , shared food , stories , Shelter , coffee and other beverages and Laughter....
Made more Smoke than anyone else ,,,, Had Fun !!!

Well we wrote up 23 issues that need a fixing,,, on the way to the dealer a mud flap came of on the highway in a construction Zone where I couldn't stop .... Managed to save the bracket...
In the middle of Wedding plans ,,, 10 days till the first ....
I just want to go shoot this week-end ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, But then I might be Shot....
Kinda makes me Grumpy ...

The Cutting is Done, she's home and hubby Bob is looking after her...
Doing a great job by all accounts ... Now comes the Wait for Biopsy results...
My youngest son is tying the Knot in 12 days .... She is a welcome addition to the Family ...
Taking the Motor Coach in for making a bunch of things right... I wish they build them better to start... Where is the Pride in doing your job right gone ....

Mohawk ,,, 2019 is the year to come here ta shoot .....The Stars are all to come into line , The Malihat Shoot , Followed by the Canadian SASS Nationals... Both on Vancouver Island ....
And I think Prior to that Our Fall Shoot 7 miles west of me ....
Boom Town is the Location of the 2019 Sass event on the Shore of Comox Lake, and you really need to see their "Town" that they/We shoot at ...
