  4. Pard ; Since this was a thread on returning Unsafe Firearm and in What condition, I did not spell out my policy before returning same ... If the owner is in Canada or the USA and has provided a phone number ( or E-Mule ) I call them and we discuss their firearm and my findings, if it is not able to be fixed or at too great a cost .... The call is usually short (unless we get talking Cowboy ) if the owner starts arguing the call gets real short ... If on the other hand the customer really wants the gun fixed and can handle the cost and I have deemed it to be repairable we can continue ... If the owner is not a serious Cowboy Shooter or a return Customer I request that 75% of the cost be forwarded to me ,before work is started ... I have been stung a couple of times .... The Time frame for completion is established from when I receive the funds ... I have done a couple of what amounts to remanufactures of the Firearm.... Jabez Cowboy

  10. When I Deem a Firearm to be "Unsafe to Fire" I type up a letter of explanation of just what the issue or issues are, and why they make said Firearm unsafe to use ... There is a detailed report Made often including photos of each factor considered in my decision... Info on the Firearm is included like Ser # , Barrel length and type, Make and Model. I keep a copy on file , I send a copy to the Manufacture and one to the customer .... I attach a bright red Tag to the trigger guard or lever .... With the letter to the customer I include a form again spelling out the reason or reasons why the Firearm is unsafe ... There is a space on the letter for the customer to sign and date saying they have received this information and would they please return this form to me ... This is how I handle this issue ...   11. Howdy Pard;

    I am thinking about a nicer rig for my Twins "Buck" and "Boom", they are 7 1/2 inch barreled navy gripped Open-Tops in .44 Spl.

    I shoot FCD, I am also toying with trying Gunfighter , I use Left and Right Strong side holsters ...

    No Cross draws for me ... I want lined holsters with a flair on the top for easy re-holstering and I want them to stay open ....

  12. Ford is half as Good as Chevy... .45 ACP is half as good as .45 Colt and twice as good as 9mm. And Mary Ann is clearly better than Ginger .... Mernickle is very good ..... A that smokieless stuff is just a Passing Fad .... Jabez Cowboy
  13. I use Goex 3F as FILLER in .38-40 , .44 Special and .45 Colt ,,,, just Filler-up till you get 1/8 to 3/16 of compression .... Use a good Black Powder Lube like ,,,, SPG , Lyman Gold or DGL .... My Open-Tops will start getting a little sticky after 8 stages on a hot dry day ,,,, a shot of ballistol and we can run for another 3 or 4 stages .... I once shot 12 Stages in a Day ... Rifle in .38-40 and Hammered Shotgun needed No attention the Pistols needed one shot of Ballistol and a quick wipe on the cylinder Face .... I use a Drop-Tube on my loads as I find it gives a Lower SD and is Much cleaner ( more complete Burn ) to shoot ,,,,, and allows more Powder to fit in .... Jabez Cowboy
  14. I have a 1885 Low Wall in .38WCF... And would suggest it for a Roller ..... In Pistol Caliber .... Jabez Cowboy
  15. Preparation H and Tooth Paste !!!! Jabez Cowboy
