I bought these old Colts years ago. One was re-blued and polished badly. The other had the wrong barrel and a bad restoration. I got a really gooood deal on them. I think I owe them a new life. Hopefully they'll bring some joy to someone else when I'm gone. I appreciate all the replies.

$700 plus for roll stamping. $300 for front sight replacement. $2600 for restoration plus other services. Wow! That's why I asked the question.

All good points Cholla. I've been collecting Colts for a lot of years. The only ones that I would refinish are ones I have that have already been "molested". This old argument has a few sides. I understand them all. But the bottom line for me is: "It's your gun do whatever you like with it".

Anyone had any recent good experience having a gun polished, re-blued and color cased? I've had a few done in the past. Some have priced themselves out of sensible range. Any thoughts? Thanks
