  1. just spit-balling:

some gunk had a chance to dry on the moving parts and slow things down.

we tell our members (I'm newsletter editor) in cold weather to clean firearms and use graphite or sewing machine oil which is very thin.  "Normal" (whatever that means) lube will thicken and slow things down.  so will the sewing machine oil but it's already as thin as water so not as much a problem

Another thing that could be easily overlooked is the sights.  Highly recommend going with fixed sights.  Adjustable sights limit the categories that you can shoot in.

one thing about front sights--Ubeties and the like have very narrow front sights--many cowfolk will put an aftermarket one on that dramatically thickens them.  another cost to consider

  3. I bought supplies/equipment from Ballistic Products that do about the same as you.  Don't have the skills and tools to make my own equipment

I always get favorable comments when I bring a few out to shoot

one thing I do is take a narrow strip of paper, use old targets as I like the thickness of them, and make a sleeve to hold the shot.  probably not needed but adds to the fun of loading them

    Ruger Security9 pistol
    • Ruger Security-9: This affordable 9mm pistol is a great value for the price, and it's known for its reliability and ease of use.Изображение: Ruger Security9 pistol

Each of these pistols can be modded: Grips. sights and triggers.

my thought was the OP was referring to single action as that's what we use.

agree with the thoughts above:  attend a match, shoot a few--we cowfolk love to help the new shooters
