  1. my Dad took me to Houston's International AP years ago and we got to ride in one that circled downtown. It was a blast . . . and noisy.
  2. side trail--I use a piece in the shot section of my shotgun shells, using ½ oz of shot is all. Two rotator cuff surgeries mean I have to have very light loads. works like a champ
  3. glad to hear of your good results mine went from legally not able to drive due to vision to 20/20 and 20/30. no need for glasses other than safety when shooting and sun when out in the bright Texas sun. best of luck on the next one--remember the third one is free 😁

  5. come on down to The Republic, we're Friendly to both folks and guns. and as I remind everyone: Even Sam Houston and Stephen F. Austin were born in another state (Virginia, if memory serves) 🤠
  6. check with Texas ShaDi and Calamity Jenn. they have a large umbrella that seems to be able to handle the winds. I'll email you their addresses cr
  7. thanks, that was going to be my next question/comment--could a smooth sleeve covering the threads be OK? seems I'm late to the party
  8. Could the threads be removed and the rifle now be SASS legal? (Bubba with a hack saw, vice and a 6-pack come to mind) recrown the barrel and touch-up bluing and good to go??
  9. Lord knows I'm no expert but the length of ammo also plays a factor in this. If the rounds are too short, the one ahead of the one on the carrier can come out of the mag tube and jam the works, too
  10. Commandancy of The Alamo Bejar, Feby. 24th. 1836 To the People of Texas & All Americans in the World- Fellow Citizens & compatriots- I am besieged, by a thousand or more of the Mexicans under Santa Anna - I have sustained a continual Bombardment & cannonade for 24 hours & have not lost a man - The enemy has demanded a surrender at discretion, otherwise, the garrison are to be put to the sword, if the fort is taken - I have answered the demand with a cannon shot, & our flag still waves proudly from the walls - I shall never surrender or retreat. Then, I call on you in the name of Liberty, of patriotism & everything dear to the American character, to come to our aid, with all dispatch - The enemy is receiving reinforcements daily & will no doubt increase to three or four thousand in four or five days. If this call is neglected, I am determined to sustain myself as long as possible & die like a soldier who never forgets what is due to his own honor & that of his country - Victory or Death. William Barret Travis. Lt. Col.comdt. P. S. The Lord is on our side - When the enemy appeared in sight we had not three bushels of corn - We have since found in deserted houses 80 or 90 bushels and got into the walls 20 or 30 head of Beeves. Travis

  16. looks like one of our cats--but smaller. we tend to over feed our clowder
  17. If visitors show up without a member accompanying them we usually will see if they would like to "shoot a few" after the match. We have a number of us who will stay after and let them learn about and fire our guns. If they don't want to we are still happy as clams to answer their questions.
  18. we had one lady shoot it at our Annual last year. Her check cleared so we were fine with it
  19. back in the day (80's) we kept the fire engines running for the entire call the ambulances we shut off while we were out of them. after my time, they started locking the ambulances--sad statement about how the population had changed
